Silicon Valley's  (Dangerous?) Real Estate Market Trend Fact #1 A listing I had in Old Mountain View CA closed escrow last Thursday.  We got eight offers, all of them over list price.  That's not unusual in Mountain View or in many other cities in Silicon Valley or throughout the country.  What was unusual was none of the eight offers contained a single contingency.  There were no inspection contingencies, no financing contingencies and no appraisal contingencies in any of the offers.  I've never seen or heard of that since 1976 when I began selling real estate.
