The Mountain Play is performing Beauty and The Beast at the Mt. A Hike on Mt. Tamalpais, Marin County, CA Labor Day weekend provided the opportunity to indulge in a full day hike, so off to one of our favorite hiking destinations we went - Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, CA We started the day's hike in downtown Mill Valley, a picturesque town set in the redwood trees, near the edge of San Francisco Bay, then headed up the incredibly steep Zig-Zag trail which brought us to the Panoramic Highway, midway up the mountain. A series of other trails lead to the almost equally steep Fern Creek trail which took us up to the Visitor Center area near the top of the East Peak of Mt. Tam, a 2,571' elevation.
