What to make for dinner on a Saturday Night? Well, I was out of sauce as some know it as red sauce aka tomato sauce. Short notice inspiration I decided to make this. Look at the top photo, that was the finished product.well looking at the above photo you will see, vegetables, chicken stock and chicken sausage with garlic and herbs. I had this colorful bow pastas from Trader Joe's,. Bought them during the Holiday, they not only looked good but were from Italy. So you can guess added it to the above concoction. Here you have it a few minutes of continued boiling and reduction created the first photo. Needless to say, it was a success barely any leftovers. Now tonight's dinner was a bit of work. Stay tuned to my next post about it. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to y...

What is going on in Los Feliz the 90027 zip code of Los Angeles, CA?... I received three calls from different buyers and sellers wanting to know what is going on in this zip code. Hence, I thought I would share here what I told them.Sat Feb 03 2024This week the median list price for Los Angeles, CA 90027 is $3,260,000 with the market action index hovering around 38. This is less than last month's market action index of 39. Inventory has increased to 33.  The market has been cooling over time and prices plateaued for a while. Despite the consistent decrease in MAI, we’re in the Seller’s zone. Watch for changes in MAI. If the MAI resumes its climb, prices will likely follow suit. If the MAI drops consistently or falls into the Buyer’s zone, watch for downward pressure on prices.  Market S...

Wordless Wednesdays: Technology/AI is not your friend... I have been reading a lot of posts thanks to this month's Active Rain Challenge about AI. I wrote a diplomatic post about it. Well, this is not about the Challenge, this happened today.  To give you a background for those who do not know I was born in Communist Hungary where the government tried to control people's thought process and I see today technology is trying to do the same. So, with that said be forewarned and be careful. Look at the photos and I will just leave it at that. When Diane and I talk to each other there are times she is in the other room and does not hear what I said. Hence the joke has been I yell to her "Do you want me to tell you in Hungarian?" Keep in mind my phone is always in my hip pocket in case I get a...

Speechless Sundays: Have you ever had Grillo's Pickles?... all I could say is if you never had it, you are missing out. In all fairness it has a kick to it so if you do not like or cannot have spicey food, this is not for you.Years ago, I bought it, and Diane thought it was a bit too spicey... now not going into details, she asked me to buy it again for another reason. I loved it and again it was too spicey for her. Nevertheless, she enjoyed it, and we have it in the fridge. Keeping in mind I am digressing. We had a late lunch today with a friend and where I was sitting there was this advertisement. Check out the photos. Now with that said may I ask do you have a PhD? :)) Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. If you are looking for a knowledgeable, focu...

Throwback Thursday: Wiley's journey... the joke has been that we bought the house so we could bring Wiley in. Well, he used to be in the backyard. We had the handyman build him a house. Then we started giving him comfortable puffs for him to lay in the sun and in the back yard.Well in time we bought him into our home, and he quickly became very comfortable on the bed. He never looked back and never wanted to go out again. Well with that said about seven or eight years he as been content living inside our home. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Wordless Wednesdays: Soup again...corn chowder with a twist... well I decided to add tomatoes, basil, potatoes and langostinos. Keep in mind the fresh basil and the hidden ingredients, onions, basil, carrots and celery made the difference.Diane mentioned wow this is different variation from how you usually make it: What is the difference? Well, I opted for Kettle & Fire low sodium chicken broth with a taste of heavy cream. Needless to say, the fresh corn had the focus and was not overpowered by salt or salty chicken stock. It was a winner, so with that said let me know your thoughts. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. Speechless Sundays: Linguine with Mussels... it never gets old if you make it the right way.Needless to say, Mussels cooked with garlic and white wine sauce is the key and then sneak in there some tomatoes with the sauce/paste and you have a delicious dinner. My take is getting rid of most of the shells makes the meal better because most people do not want to be "working" for their meal.  Hence   remove most of the shells to make the dinner easy to eat but leave a couple of them in the shells so the eyes know it is mussels in the shell.Yes, you guessed it we had this the other night and Diane thought it was a success and wants to have it again.Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. One of my friends asked me what my favorite Bordeaux wine is? Now my answer is... well it is not a simple answer. The photo above is of a $100+ bottle of Bordeaux, if you get the opportunity do enjoy it.Bordeaux wines can range from one price point to the extreme. So, with that said I need to break it down into various price point categories.  I generally stay within the under $25 budget for everyday dinner drinking. Let's face it, we cannot afford the high end for everyday drinking, nor should we even if we could.I have had a client, when we went to his home, he would break out $50 -$100 bottles. Call me cheap or frugal, I could not see that as an everyday consumption. Hence when I saw him break out a superb bottle, I flagged Diane down and said you must taste this....Now on special oc...

Diane always smiles, when I get a phone call or an email from another agent and I am always available to answer questions and help them, when it comes to vacant land.  So, the standard joke is I work for Wine:)Some agents pull me in to help them get the listings others just thank me for the help and advice I give them freely. Then others want to invite me to lunch, which I generally turn down since I am very busy and little time to spend on lunch. So, they ask me how can they thank me? My standard answer is a good Bottle of Bordeaux will do the trick. Now with that said, the other day one of the agents stopped by our home and brought two bottles of Bordeaux, I thanked her and tonight I opened the less expensive one for dinner. I saved the other for a special occasion. So, with that said, t...

This photo was taken on January 18th in 2015, Diane and I lived in Marina Del Rey, CA and had this wonderful patio paralleling a stream. We had many visitors including our cat Jack that asked us to let him in. Wordless Wednesday's: Mushroom with seafood Risotto. Yesterday I asked Diane what she would like for dinner: leftover Cioppino or Risotto? Well, the answer too less than a split second... Risotto. Now with that said I had to go to work. I decided on four mushrooms: Dried Porcini and Dried Shantrell's and fresh seafood mushrooms and fresh King Oyster Mushrooms. For good measure I sauteed some Kale too.Two I had to soak in the chicken broth and chicken stock while I was sautéing the onions and followed by sauteing the mushrooms. Now I decided on Argentinian red shrimp and langostino tails, and of course the key ingredient Arborio rice. So, with that said 25 minutes later we had a delicious meal. Secretly I added some shredded parmesan cheese and topped it off with fresh Italian parsley shre...

I must admit the best ' One Dollar' I spent was this book about Dr. Deming, well in case you do not know, he was the American person who thought the Japanese about Quality. This book was written in 1991 and on page 263 he said:Big Deal! All right, so interest rates went up and inflation rose. What's the big deal? To answer that we have to understand something about our financial system.I was distracted by reading his words, incredible but so spot on anyway few pages later I thought I would share this:"...books have been written about the mismanagement of the savings and loan associations and congressional hearings have been held to investigate wrongdoing, yet all of it is silly nonsense. The problems of the S &L's were built into the system...""...everything is easy until you try it. Th...

As most of you, who read my posts regularly know, that Jack used to be in my home office, while I worked every day, he would give me support. Since December 2022 he has crossed Rainbow Bridge.Holly started to hang out with me to give me support in the home office. Wiley comes in once in a while to let me know he wants to eat and so does Jill.Tonight was the first time in 13 months that Jill decided to hang out with me, well sort of. She decided to take a nap while I was emailing and talking with clients. Wishing you a safe and healthy life and I look forward to your comments. As most of you know, we love our outdoor friends the Squirrels. They come visit our orange tree and enjoy the fruit, just as much as we do.I have learned from my parents not to waste any food or fruit, so with that said I do not mind if the squirrels eat the oranges. What I mind is if they only eat part of the orange and then throw it on the ground.Well see these photos, clearly, they are wasting some of our fruit. Just to be clear Oranges are good source of vitamins and nutrients not just for humans but for the squirrels as well. On a side note, the squirrels like the humans like the taste of it as well. Now keep in mind our squirrels eat well, four homes from us they have an Avocado tree and I see the same issue some are completely eaten others are left to waste. What do you suggest edu...

Wordless Wednesdays:  What is the secret to ethnic cooking? knowing the history, knowing the spices, being familiar with the seasonings and the various techniques of how to make certain dishes.I am so grateful that I have Hungarian cookbooks that my mother had and the ones she inherited from her mother aka my grandmother.Just to be clear my cooking style is very Global, and the focus is mostly on seafood, fish and Italian Sauces.I have cookbooks from every ethnicity, may it be Asian, Middle Eastern or European I have it. I have also learned not to tell Diane what I will make for dinner, it is mostly a surprise to her and that is fun too.  Nevertheless once in a while I do cook Hungarian style dishes. Now with that said you need not only the cookbooks, but you also need the spices. For th...
