I was reading an article, about a young Christian student named Diane who was home for the summer and visiting friends late on evening. I just wanted to pass on the story I heard this morning on Focus on the Family Radio Show. I was listening to an account by Joel Rosenberg of a Palestinian Solder that was harassing a Messianic Jew. The Solder continued to beat the man and when the Soldier was done the man he was beating got up and said, Jesus told us to love our enemy and I will pray for you and your family. Then He gave the Soldier a hug. The Soldier did not know what to do with all this love. The Soldier was so overcome that he converted to Arab messianic and is now a Pastor. Wow, after all the fires here in Southern California, it's nice to be able to breath a sigh of relief that our area wasn't hit by the wild fires.  My heart goes out to all the folks who lost their homes and will now take years to rebuild their lives.  I pray every day that everyone will get the help they need to make it through these tough times.  Parts of the Palos Verdes Peninsula are high fire hazard too.  We've had a few little close calls but we've been fortunate that our fire services are top notch and we've never had a real problem.   Although we experienced quite a bit of smoke and ash in our area, the Harbor and Beach breezes are back and we're returning to our normal state again. If you've been impacted by the fires and need a break - come out to the South Bay and get some res... 11/06/2007

Greetings from Lomita, California! I first stumbled upon my little piece of heaven 11 years ago.  It's now where I work and playand rest and rejoice!  I was cutting through Lomita Pines one day to avoid some traffic snarls and low and behold I was beckoned to this Open House...  The rest is history.  Lomitais a Spanish name which means "little knoll."  We refer to her as the "Little Hill" because we'reattached at the hip in several places to "THE HILL" which is the Palos Verdes Peninsula.  Iguess you could say we're sort of a stepping stone to Palos Verdes.  I liken my area to a fancier version of "Big Bear."  I love the smell of the Pines and Harbor Breezes.  We're actually the same distance from the Ocean (Redondo Beach) on the west as the Harbor onthe east.  You can bicycle from Lomi... 07/21/2007
