Car Show - Downtown Livermore, California (Alameda County, CA) Today, there was a car show in downtown Livermore. Although it was nothing like the Good Guys Car Show in Pleasanton at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, it was interesting to look at some of the cars that were there. Here is a video taken on the corner of First Street and South Livermore Avenue (sorry you can't see much of the cars as it was taken from a distance):   Here's another video of a red Willy's pickup truck:

I had a few rather awkward and painful, but short-lived experiences with student athletics when I was growing up. I remember being on a Babe Ruth baseball team out in Livermore CA sponsored by Patterson Glass. It was my first team where the uniform wasn't a cheap silk-screen t-shirt. Even though I couldn't hit or field a baseball, at least I looked as though I had reached the Major Leagues. My Dad had always been the motivating force behind my illustrious baseball career, so when my folks divorced, and he moved to Southern CA, he wasn't around to remind me of practices or games. One hot summer afternoon, my sisters and I walked over to May Nissen Park to show off our skills at cannonballs and jackknifes in the massive public pool. As we made our way through the park, we noticed a baseba...

Vineyard Harvest Videos at Ruby Hill Vineyard Estates - Livermore Wine Country, California (Alameda County, CA) It's harvest time for Chardonnay grapes in California's Livermore Valley Wine Country! Harvesting is typically done during the late night and early morning hours, as maintaining a cool temperature is vital for the grapes...not only while they are sitting in the bins, but also while they are being transported. Here are a couple of videos of the grapes being harvested, one at night and one in the morning: This Chardonnay vineyard is expected to produce approximately 6-7 tons per acre and there are about 800 vines per acre. By the time the grapes have been crushed, stored in barrels and bottled, we'll be able to enjoy the wine from last night's and today's harvest in 2011!

If you love live music – and really, who doesn’t -- Downtown Livermore is the place to be on Tuesday evenings for a toe-tapping good time. Tuesday Tunes begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Flagpole Plaza every Tuesday through October. This week’s featured band is Mud Daddy, a five-piece rock cover band that started out in East Bay garages based on the band members’ love for classic rock ‘n roll and blues. Tuesday Tunes is a favorite downtown Livermore tradition, for good reason.   A new REO property came on the market, and the next day I received calls from two different buyers for a viewing. There were a half-dozen cards already on the kitchen counter, and no – this was not an open house, nor was it the weekend. While there, 4 other agents and their clients also came by. What was so appealing about this property? The price of course! And for its price range, the neighborhood and condition were also good. My buyers got first-hand experience regarding the state of our market. The inventory at the lower price range is down, sales are up and multiple offers are an everyday happening. They got that message loud and clear. This turned out to be a good situation for them to chance upon. Both totally understand how their state of readiness will be all-important. And, ...

Price is king in the market right now, and as home prices have dropped, unit sales in Livermore have clicked up significantly, as evidenced in the graph below, comparing pending properties, year over year from April 08 through April 09. Sales are up 28% from this time a year ago. In someprice ranges, buyers demand is outpacing inventory levels, leading to multiple offer situations. The nature of supply and demand predicts that as that happens, prices level off and then slowly begin to rise unless the supply returns to a more normal level. The entry of short sales and foreclosed properties has certainly affected the rate of sale and the inventory levels in this area. Market statistics can paint a very different picture, depending upon how they’re compiled and assessed. Just take a look a...
