Livermore, CA Real Estate News

I'm so old I remember a time before cell phones, before computers, before fax machines even. With each new implementation a mini revolution in the way our business is handled takes place. Today we have paperless transactions. Email signatures will save buyers and sellers from having to print sign and find a fax machine. This is huge. This means that you could digitally esign the offer to sell your house anywhere your smart phone can get a signal, on a beach in hawaii say. Accomplish in minutes what used to take days, and lower stress to boot. Now that's what I call a revolution!

It’s supposed to hit 94 in Livermore, CA today. I’m holding a home open, its first Sunday on the market. Will there be visitors? I’m counting on it. Here’s my rationale. The temperatures reached the 100s earlier this week, so today will feel cool by comparison. The Broker’s Open had a great agent turnout, and 4 different agents said they’re returning with clients on Sunday. We’ve had showings already and those folks came while it was very, very hot. 7 Reasons I’m Optimistic. 1) Those who are out searching in the heat, are apt to be more than Looky Lou’s. They’ve got limited time to tour homes, and perhaps a desired move-in date spurring them on. 2) The house will be air conditioned, so a nice respite from the outside air. They may hang out a little longer and see the many desirable aspe...

Forbes.com recently published their Top Ten list of communities that were considered to be the riskiest and the most likely to decline in value.  These communities are likely going to get a bit worse, before they get better.  Is your city on this list? 10.  Fresno, CA 9.    Miami, FL 8.    Memphis, TN 7.    Orlando, FL 6.    Vallejo, CA 5.    Bakersfield, CA 4.    Modesto, CA 3.    Stockton, CA 2.    Riverside, CA 1.    Las Vegas, NV The people performing the study considered a number of factors as they compiled the list, but placed a lot of weight upon the number of delinquencies in any given city.  The new studies indicate that the cities with the largest amount of delinquencies were most likely to see homes go into default .  Many of the Homeowners will find relief under the HAMP pro...

Is this guy adorable or what?  And no, he's not related to me.  I just enjoyed watching him tromp around in his little tennis shoes and diaper when temps hit the 90s on Saturday.  Kids are just fascinated by the "Sprayground" at Lizzie Fountain, Downtown Livermore, CA.

Lizzie Fountain is a mainstay of the Livermore Downtown. Right in the center of things, this little pocket park sits at the corner of N. Livermore Ave. and First Street. Here for nearly 40 years, much controversy has existed over the years when suggestions for new uses of the corner would arise. The clock tower makes for an easy landmark, so a central meeting place for folks. You could often spot parents watching their kids play in the single, but tall fountain of water. It’s also the setting for a ‘snow park’ as real snow is trucked in for the city’s Home For the Holidays event. After the downtown renovation another fountain was added across the street at S. Livermore and First. But this year, Lizzie got a makeover. Instead of a lone water fount, there are now multiple vertical sprays,...

What a novel idea, at least in Downtown Livermore, CA. After expanding into a larger building for their popular beer and grub restaurant, the owners of The First Street Alehouse, found a great use for their previous space. The Breakfast Stop is a convenient place to pop in and grab breakfast to go.  Simply choose your choice of breakfast sandwich, potatoes or fruit and a beverage.  Ala carte options available too.  A terrific solution for busy residents who don't have time for a leisurely sit-down breakfast.  Although, there are tables and chairs for those who prefer to dine in.  Simply circle your menu choices and your order will be ready in a flash.

Wow, that’s a long time that this event has been drawing crowds from around the Tri Valley. Before even living in Livermore, our family would drive out for a day of fun in the sun, where live music, games and magnificent firework displays kept us entertained for hours. This year promises to be a great one. The weather’s slated for 93 – perhaps a bit hot during the day, but it usually cools down at night. Can even get cool and a bit windy, so plan ahead. Local radio station KKIQ will be on hand for the festivities, with a synchronized broadcast during the fireworks display, which starts about 9:30. Come join the fun! Check details for admission times.     Sunday, July 4 20103:00pm – 10:00pm    Robertson Park, Livermore    $20 per car, $5 walk-ins

Located so close to the Central Valley and an abundance of the state’s best agriculture, Livermore’s Farmer’s Market is a bountiful display of the season’s most colorful and tasty fresh fruits and vegetables. Held each Thursday from 4 to 8, residents flock to the heart of downtown to stock up on farm-fresh produce. Encompassing the entire block surrounding the historic Carnegie building, you’ll find plenty to lure you back, week after week. Carnegie Park is located on Third St., between J and K. Other vendors round out the menu with fresh-baked breads and pastries, cheeses and olive oil. Fresh flowers for your table and even hot-of-the grill tri tip and chicken to complete your evening meal. But more than a quick stop to shop, the Livermore Farmer’s Market has become a gathering place f...

A favorite place to grab a cold beer, lunch or a casual dinner, the 1st Street Alehouse in Livermore, CA has been wildly successful. So much so, that they recently expander their storefront to nearly 3 times the space. And even with that, the place is packed. Downturn economy? You wouldn’t know it at this place – they always bring in a crowd. The reason? Great food, great beer and terrific wine choices for you non-beer drinkers. Kid friendly too, the atmosphere is terrific for meeting up with friends and dining al fresco. Take a look at their menu offerings, and check out the great array of beers on tap. And, it has a now special attraction for local real estate industry folk. The Alehouse is the new location for our weekly real estate marketing meetings.   Starting June 17th, R.E.A.L. ...
