Wow, what a time we're living in, right? I've been in this business for over 23 years and have ridden out several ups and downs during those years, but they weren't exactly like this ride. This one is like riding an old, wooden roller coaster. You know how that first dip was a loo-loo? You sucked in your breath while your white knuckles were gripping that safetly bar in front of you.  Then, at the bottom of the dip, you exaled. Keep in mind, this ride will end and we'll pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and continue on.     In Lake Arrowhead I'm seeing prices staying fairly close to where they were before "COVID19" popped up and  "Stay at Home" orders began in March (3/19/2020).   I thought I'd share our local real estate market figures (right now) to give you an idea of our current...

Wordless Wednesday! Today marks 40 days since we have been "Shelter in Place" here in Lake Arrowhead. It's been a very different way of life, but I have taken the time to challenge myself not only in business but also in lifestyle. I've done several things already in my business while taking advantage of this time until everything reopens. Personally, I've taken time to reflect, I've built a few puzzles and I've just sat with nature enjoying the fresh air. While some believe their freedom has been taken, I chose to not worry about the places I couldn't go or the things I couldn't do and I focused on freeing my mind. It was empowering and exhilarating. All of those things that I was always too busy to do, I now found the time to do. Even to just stop, slow down and think. I was able to d...

Aside from its aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, the benefits of living and/or being around the water can help not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually? While we are under quarantine from COVID 19 there is no better place to be that allows you the peace and calm and the time to reflect.  As I made a grocery store run this week I couldn't help but to take in the beauty of the water, the mountain views, the flowers blooming and the stillness around Lake Arrowhead. Zig Ziglar has said " The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything". I concur. It sort of goes along with these statements : The Glass Is Half Full or The Glass is Half Empty. But, how about The Glass is refillable? No matter what life or business throws at us, it is how we stand up and show up that truly defines us not the circumstances. Today, in our Real Estate world while it seems as though everything has changed, and many things have, we can look at the glass as half full and/or even refillable. We can think outside of the box and still conduct business in a personal way that keeps us safe, and keeps professionalism on the forefront. We don't have to be scared of technology or apps or zoom simply because it isn't the norm. We can have...

Thank you to all of the amazing essential workers in Lake Arrowhead and worldwide! Your service to our cities, states and country in our time of need has not gone unnoticed. Thank you to all of the nurses, doctors, janitors, all health care workers behind the scenes and on the front lines, our police departments, truck drivers, pharmacy workers, grocery stores, military and so many more.  Whether you are working to find the cure, heal the sick or be the light, Thank you just doesn't seem to be enough.  Remember, these folks go to work for US. So, stay home for them whenever possible. Continue to social distance and stop the spread.

Yes, we are all probably tired of of not only hearing about " Shelter in Place or " Quarantine" but also experiencing it. Our daily lives as we know it have come to a screeching halt. Many, missing their family, friends, activities and so much more. Even that weekly trip to the grocery store that so many of us would tread has us being a little more grateful for those outings. Mental health is a crucial part to being well physically. Cabin fever seems to be setting in for many. What we don't want to do is start feeling depressed or becoming the couch potato because it's really hard to get out of that rut. In times like this we have to force ourselves to do things that we wouldn't have necessarily done before. Whether it be change our diet, exercise, learn how to grow herbs, plant some fl...

There is something about the Christmas season. It brings so much faith, joy and peace. As you watch the falling snow next to a crackling fire, or become mesmerized by the twinkling lights, it really is a magical time of year. While it is only April and a long way from Christmas, with everything going on in our world, this little bit of snow somehow brings back the spirit of Christmas. It couldn't have happened at a better time as we all " Shelter in Place". Fact is, while none of us are use to staying in this long, and not partaking in our normal daily activities, now is a great time to reflect, learn new things and bring the magic out in you! Things will get back to normal. When? That is uncertain, but our safety is paramount to a trip to the salon or the ski lift. Now, is a great time...

No Shave November for men and now we have no root touch up "Maprilay" for women. Let's face it, most of us women don't dare go all natural. Kudo's to all of you that do. As for me, I've decided a little sun may (probably not) do the trick. Either way I am safe because I don't consider hair and nails "essential". I think it not only puts myself at risk, but also many others I would potentially be around. My hair can wait, I'd rather save a life. I don't need a Mayor, President or Governor to tell me that. Who knows, maybe I'll like it ( again, probably not ) but it's nice to try and keep things light and fun especially right now. And, my stylist will thank me later for not going this alone.  How are you keeping things light and fun? As for me, I am just real, a Real Estate Agent in this ...

If you feel as though you have been cooking 355 meals a day, you are not alone. Prior to the Coronavirus pandemic we grew accustom to food on the go, casual sit down dinners at our favorite places and even the occasional fine dining experience. Now, more than ever our local diners and restaurants need our help. They are always there for us when we need them. After a long day. After a hot day. After the going to the grocery store is the last thing I want to do kind of day.  Small businesses especially can get into trouble in times like this. It becomes more concerning when rumors begin to swirl like the virus being transmitted through food. Right now any business considered essential and permitted to operate their business, even on a limited scale, are subject to very strict guidelines i...

Like many of you, I am also practicing social distancing per the recommendations of the CDC. This, however, does not mean that we can't get the job done when either buying a home or selling a home. In today's world of technology, virtually everything is done online. From video calls and chats to document signatures. Don't let social distancing scare you away from owning your dream home or selling your home. I am here to help with all of your Lake Arrowhead buying and selling needs. We will shake hands later, when it is safe, in the meantime we will have a virtual handshake!

Many have underlining health issues and are choosing to stay home during this Covid-19 | Coronavirus pandemic. Others are playing it safe and are staying home to protect their health and the health of those around them. Whatever you are choosing, whether a mandatory quarantine at the guidance of your health care professional or in an abundance of caution to voluntarily quarantine yourself, I hope that you are keeping busy, but remaining calm. In times like this there are many things that we can do to keep busy that won't seem mundane day after day. All of those chores we have been putting off for rainy days or just having no desire to complete them, now may be that time. While I highly recommend taking time for yourself with a good book, a long soak in the bath or a good puzzle ( we lov...

When the rest of the world seems to be in a panic, I am just going to sit here in Lake Arrowhead in peace and calm, right next to the water. Lake Arrowhead is beautiful through all four seasons. The water and the mountain views really connect you to nature. The scene is pure serenity and it makes you forget about all the things going on around you. It relieves the stress, the anxiety and the mayhem of the world and life. It helps to connect you, on a deeper level, to yourself. It's a great place to just stare off into the horizon, read a good book, journal or even bask in the picture perfect moments that you can capture through a lens.

You can't live your life in fear. It is debilitating and can cripple you. There is a difference between being concerned and being in fear. Concern is defined as " A matter of interest or importance to someone". Whereas fear is defined as "An unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous and likely to cause pain or threat". While both fear and concern have similar emotions like anxiety, fear tends to bring on more panic. That is unfortunately what we are seeing with the Coronavirus.  The probability of catching the coronavirus is low if you are prepared and proactive. Being proactive requires a level head and taking measures out of concern not panic or fear. We can all be concerned about something. It is when we allow fear to take control of us that we ca...

Your attitude greatly affects your overall well being. From your personal life to your business life, attitude is everything. It doesn’t matter if you are buying a home, selling a home, handling your business transactions or your health. Attitude affects your overall decision making, how you feel and how you proceed with things. If you want to change your life or your business you first have to change your attitude. Your Business - Your business is only as good as your positive attitude. Most businesses fail because of negative attitudes and the desire to give up and quit. If you believe that you can’t do something, you won’t. If you believe you can’t make something work, you won’t. By keeping a positive attitude, you in turn keep the creative juices flowing.  Your Health & Wellness - N...

The destruction in Tennessee is devastating from the recent Tornadoes. I read a news article earlier that one of the tornadoes that touched down covered an almost 52 mile radius. That is huge. That is almost unheard of. Countless counties were affected, lives were lost, lives shattered and buildings collapsed.  As a Realtor my heart goes out to my fellow colleagues and my positive thoughts and prayers are with you, as you rebuild. As a mother and grandmother my heart genuinely hurts for you, those left behind from such a horrific act of nature that took someone you loved.  Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. That California is thinking of you and praying for you.
