In the winter in the Mountains near Lake Arrowheadsometimes you do your day and then snuggle in for the night. TV, a nice fire in the fireplace and the emails. Neighbors walk house to house share pizza's, dvd's books or ask you to feed the cats while they are away.Then the sun stays out a little bit longer and the wind blows a little less. Friday nights now seem like maybe there is some place you should try to go. So you meet friends after work at Cedar Glen Inn. They have the prime rib and me the steam veg plate.  For a relatively small community, we have a wide range of opportunities to worship.  My home church is Community Baptist Church of Lake Arrowhead, located on Hwy 173. Our pastor, Mack Braden has been teaching on Acts.  This coming Sunday we will have a guest speaker, although Ron Merrell is no stranger to us.  Ron was our youth pastor for many years before leaving to become an assistant Pastor in Northern California.  He is a gifted speaker, and has a creative way of presenting the gospel. We offer 2 services on Sunday morning, one at 9:00 am and one at 10:45 am. Lake Arrowhead Lifestyle is like no other.  The Country Club has opened up the first nine of the golf course and the sun is shining beautifully today.  I had some clients come up this past weekend and the excitement in the husband to get out on the course was awesome.  He reminds me of a kid on Christmas morning.  Every morning while driving in, I see another boat making its way up the hill.  Before long our days will be up in the 80's and the lake will be buzzing.The first free concert starts on Friday May 2nd... it can't happen soon enough for me.  I had a walk in last night while I was on floor and he has been thinking of buying in Lake Arrowhead.  I spent about an hour with him just going over all of the highlights of our area.  I could tell when I said my goodbye that he has the it... 04/09/2008

Yesterday (Sunday 4/6/08) was the last day that the Daffodil Garden in Running Springs was open to the public.  For those of you who have never been, this is the private garden of the Bauers who have allowed the public to come and walk through their beautiful garden of vibrant daffodils and tulips for 40 years or so.  It is completely free and a wonderful walk in the crisp Spring air.  We spent about an hour admiring thousands and thousands of blooms, unique metalwork and creative architecture along the trail.   Haley especially loved smelling the flowers!  In the gazebo was posted a letter (last picture) saying that they Daffodil Garden will be open next year for only two weeks.  After that time, it will be closed to the public.  Thank you to the Bauers for decades of enjoyment.  We wi... 04/07/2008

I went on a golf outing with 7 buddies this weekend up in Mesquite NV.  It was a great trip.  However I was having a significant problem with my game.  I play to a 12 handicap and in most instances I am extremely competitive at that number.  Where I was struggling was from 100 yds in which is usually not an issue.  I just couldn't make solid contact and score.  Where we live, I don't play much golf in the Winter so sometimes it takes a while for the game to come back, but I usually don't experience what I did.  When I got back from the trip, I went over to the range at our club and took 1 club, my sand wedge and spent 20 minutes working it out.  After spending a bit of time working on it, I discovered what my problem was... ball positioning.  I had the ball too far forward in my stance ... 04/07/2008
