Home Prices in Laguna Beach California for March 2017If you notice on the chart, the home prices in Laguna Beach, California made a turn downward this month. Pretty nice way to start the year off right, don't you think? Warm coffee on a cool, sunny day in Laguna Beach. While I was not the party-animal last night....I did sleep in a bit this morning and woke to the sun shining brightly into my room. After a cup of coffee on the deck, I headed down to Laguna to walk a bit. This is one of my favorite places to stop and reflect. So I did that. The thing I love most about the ocean crashing on the rocks is that even though it is always changing...never makes the same pattern in the water twice...it's also timeless. This spot will be here long after I'm gone....and I like the perspective this gives me. I hope you all have a healthy and prosperous New Year! 01/01/2017

Crystal Cove Cottages in Laguna Beach CA  Crystal Cove is a state park along the SoCal coast just north of Laguna Beach, and includes the historic Crystal Cove cottage colony. Apart from being a charming look back in the past and a fine place to vist (the Beachcomber Restaurant right on the beach is terrific!), these cottages can be rented during the year.  High demand from regulars might make particular favorites more difficult to rent and reservations fill up quickly.  But I understand there can be some saem day openings at certain times of the year. This seaside colony of cottages was built in the 1930s and 1940s and offer a range of accommodations - some are dorm style. The beach is wonderful, as are the views from the cottages. It's well worth a day trip if you are in the area.   05/05/2016

Most people have seen the traditional Russian dolls, but not many know that they are called  "Matryoshka". Even fewer know what the tradition is about. They are known by others as the "Nesting Dolls", because the bigger one you open then there is a smaller one inside and it keeps getting smaller and smaller.Having lived in Europe I have seen them from close up and was always amazed at the intricate painting of each doll.I can still recall walking on Boylston St in Boston and looking into the showcase and was so surprised to see so many different colored Matryoshka Dolls. California Poppy Reserve in the Antelope Valley in CA...A few years ago Diane and I went to the Antelope Valley to see the California Poppy Reserve. The site was virtually indescribable. The Fields were covered with Yellow and Orange as if it was a Carpet that has been rolled out before we arrived.People had pulled their cars on the shoulder and frantically taking pictures. Diane and I were just amazed; we have never seen anything like it. Truly a feast for the eyes. Ever since then every year we were discussing going and couple years later we went and it was a total bust.
