Many people think real estate agents just sit in an office and show a few hourse and do a few papers and get a big check. Last night about 8 pm I got a call from a neighbor that there was a flood in the yard at one of my listings and I needed to be there immediately to stop it or he would sue me and the homeowner as there was water going into his backyard too.The homeowner is not in the area. I was lucky that my friend and co-agent lives in the same area, so she goes over there with flashlight. The water is in the backyard is ankle deep and it looks like a brokern sprinkler. I call the homeowner which it is 10 pm where she is and luckily she answers the phone and knew where to turn off the water. Leanna turned off the water and unplugged the sprinkler system. PGA West in La Quinta This past weekend I went to visit my Mom who lives in La Quinta in the desert.  It is about 140 miles from Newport Beach. It was such a beautiful couple of days, and not only did we enjoy the Superbowl, we definitely enjoyed the climate. It was about 80 degrees during the day with much cooler weather in the mornings and evenings. It is so lovely there with the incredible mountains and the beautiful crystal blue sky. We went to visit some friends at PGA West who have a home there and had a wonderful lunch. Then we had a tour of the entire area, which is stunning (I can honestly see the appeal). OK..here's the thing.  Realtors are sales people, we all "get" that sometimes it takes doing this or doing that to CLOSE the deal.  I am always willing to work with the other Agent to make a deal happen.  But..there IS  limit!! Market watch for the Palm Springs Valley, California   Our winter season, which is generally our busiest, because the Palm Springs Valley is essentially a tourist destination during the winter, has officially begun. Inventory is still low overall.  When a home comes available that has the things our seasonal buyers really crave, meaning sunlight, mountain views, fairway location, and a fair market value, it will sell!   Home prices have shown little fluctuation while actual sales numbers continue to drop. Each city in the Palm Springs Valley, still shows year-over-year price changes. The largest gains surprisingly were in our very easterly city, Coachella. The HABIT BURGER GRILL OPEN in La Quinta- Affordable and Good!   The Habit Burger Grill in La Quinta just opened and already it is attracting quite a following.   The Habit Burgers began in Santa Barbara and they have been creating habits since 1969. I understand why they call it "The Habit"... the burgers are habit-forming, and they won't break the bank... an affordable, delicious HABIT! We decided to beat the rush and go around 11:00am.  And I'm glad we did.  Before we were finshed with lunch, the line was out the door and growing.   We ordered 2 Chargilled burgers with cheese,  with fries and drinks-- and our check was under $16.
