This year, my husband/broker Christopher was asked to speak at the annual Genentech Gives Back Week as a cancer survivor and recipient of one of Genentech's most successful drugs, Avastin.  We are always thrilled to meet members of the Genentech team who likely helped save his life, so today we took time away from writing leases and running Foundation Rentals to have the Genentech film crew come to our house and shoot the interview for their private Benefit Concert and Auction at AT&T Park.  Proceeds from an on-site silent auction and concert T-shirt and hat sales will benefit local non-profit organizations.     We're thankful every day for Genentech's endeavors - both public and private.  Giving back has long been important to the Genentech name as an organization and as individual emp...

In lieu of traditional client gifts or holiday treats, this year the leasing team at Foundation Rentals and Relocation is making a significant donation to PETA's Angels for Animals program called "Dog House for a Cold Dog".  The program provides warm and weather-proof dog houses in low-income neighborhoods (mostly on the east coast) whose dogs would otherwise struggle to survive long days and nights outside in the freezing cold each winter. We feel so honored to live and work in such a gorgeous community; and we're even luckier to find ourselves in a position to help others.  To learn more about the Angels for Animals program visit www.peta.org and click on the "Dog House for a Cold Dog" link. Happy Holidays, Marin!  Thanks for making our first year in business so positive.  We have a l...

Today's homes for rent in Marin have a lot to offer a new tenant on this side of the Golden Gate bridge!  Marin County offers an easy 30-minute or less commute to San Francisco, top notch public schools, and a wide variety of outdoor activities available year round - not to mention Marin is leas than an hour from wine and spa country in Napa and Sonoma, or just over the hill from Stinson Beach.  We have no billboards, few chain stores, and a local sense of pride in our communities that's evident even as you're driving through for the very first time.  What's not to like? Housing prices, for one.  But, as tenants ourselves here in Marin, we too have to admit that nothing in life comes free!  Selecting the right housing is one of the biggest decisons to be made in the relocation process -...

It's been an interesting week for Marin rentals this first week of August.  There is a lot of inventory for rent in Marin in certain areas right now - while little to no inventory in others.  Calls on rentals have generally been slow all summer and last week was no exception, but here at the Marin Rental Group we did close on four rentals during the first week of August.   Our broker Christopher rented a Mill Valley home in Sycamore Park for $7,350 and a $2,450 townhome in Greenbrae, Joscelyne closed on a $3,800 condo with great views in Sausalito, and I rented a cute $3,995 home in Larkspur in the flats.    Our web traffic has been consistent, though it does look like we're seeing an increase in unique hits from Europe - in particular, I noted an increase in visitors originating out o...
