According to this weeks Business Journal, Orange County's 34 cities added people and revenue in the past year with fast growing Irvine overtaking Huntington beach as the third largest city.  The list ranks cities by current population and includes yearly revenue, city workers and large employers. All together, the cities have 2.99 million residents, which is virtually all of the county's 3 million people.  Residents in the cities were up 1%, or 30,555 people, from  a year earlier. The five biggest cities- Santa Ana, Anaheim, Irvine, Huntington Beach, and Garden Grove have 1.28 million people, more than 40% of the county's total.  Workers and Revenues have grown too. These cities employ 15,355 people, up to 10 % from a year earlier. Their revenue grew 2.3% to $2.05 billion for 12 months ... 09/17/2008

Like every cloud has a silver lining, so does inflation for every home owner. Here is my point. If you bought a home 10 years ago and had a payment of $1,000.00, it was a substantial expence. The same $1,000.00 today is very manageable and not as much of a burden.That being said, keep in mind that we just came through the years with the lowest inflation in recent history. Now imagine what the same $1,000.00 will have the power to purchase in the next 10 years. Maybe a good lunch??? Seeing what the gas prices, food prices and energy prices have done in just the last year, we all can be sure that inflation is here to stay and will rage in the years to come. No matter what anyone says, I think this is the best time to buy a home. Here is the reasons why I advocate, NOW IS THE TIME. For one thing the inventory is high and plenty to choose from, the rates are low and they won't stay this way for ever, but the most convincing fact is that no matter how hard the Feds are trying to curb inflation, it is coming. With today's reduced prices and near all time low rates, in a few years from now, most people will look back at these times and say, "Darn, I should have bought". If you think what $1,000.00 was 10 years ago and what it is today, you can get a pretty clear picture what inflation means. We hear Disneyland Fireworks again tonight ... like we can every night from our home here in Irvine and South OC, California. Wild Rivers Recreation Park, Irvine, CA We have enjoyed "Wild Rivers" at Irvine during past years and see this news about another year of fun for kids and families as positive. The Irvine Company management has offered WILD RIVERS a one-year lease extension to give the water park another summer. Details are still to be worked out.  Under the current lease, Wild Rivers would close after this summer 2008 season.  That includes nearby Camp James, which serves about 2,000 children each summer, which would have to move.  This land near I-405 and Irvine Center Drive includes the water park and the camp would be used for new homes.  It was reported that economic conditions have made developing the water park land difficult, which is an advantage for the fun and Wild Rivers' advantage.  The par... 08/22/2008

Yes, I am one of those real estate agents who believe in holding Open Houses as one way to market and expose a home to potential buyers, and to answer questions swirling around in the minds of buyers and sellers in the Irvine neighborhoods in which we market and sell homes. Walking in Irvine is very enjoyable especially when you consider Woodbridge. Because the main drag is a circle, you never have to retrace your steps to get home. If you're up for a challenge and "wanna" walk the whole 7 miles, yikes! Does anyone really have that much time in the day? For me, it's all about getting on the loop and heading for the lake. But here, we have choices...North Lake and South Lake. Personally, I choose South Lake, as it is just a little bit closer. Both Lakes have distinct personalities and my guess is that there is just a little more sidewalk access at South Lake. So basically, you head out the door with your "action" shoes on and hit the concrete.
