So I ventured out of Silver Lake for lunch in Highland Park with a friend recently.  If you have not yet been to HPK (Highland Park Kitchen), I highly recommend you give it a try. The place was less than packed when we arrived, but then we were having lunch on the late side.  What a clean, cool vibe this place has.  It’s light a bright inside and we were immediately greeted by a our pleasant hostess who also turned out to be our waitress.  HPK offers a full bar, though drinks were not on the agenda as we both had to get back to work. The Southwest Musuem, closed since 2002 under a shadow of controversy will open its doors Saturday, May 19 from 10am to 4pm, for a "partial re-opening".
