February was named after the Latin term februum, which means purification, via the purification ritual Februa held on February 15 (full moon) in the old lunar Roman calendar.  In Finnish, the month is called Helmikuu, meaning "month of the pearl"; when snow melts on tree branches, it forms droplets, and as these freeze again, they are like pearls of ice.  Here in the U.S. we celebrate Groundhog Day in February and according to this wise old prognosticator he said it was going to be a short winter and that spring would be upon us soon.  As the weather warms we find that Real Estate starts to pick up again.  The old adages "time for some Spring cleaning"  applies to us REALTORS® as well.  Time to start cleaning out some of those dusty habits we tend to pick up in the winter months.  It se...

Figarden Loop Park in Northwest Fresno opened in January of 2010.  They have built it and they are coming!!!  We drive by this Field of Dreams located at 4265 W. Figarden Drive many times a day and my youngest daughter, is always at awe at the number of children playing in the playground area of the park everyday!!!  Her Grandpa has taken her a couple of times, but she really wants a day at the park with mom and her sisters.  In order to shoot the video below, I had to go at 8 in the morning on a weekday.  This park has been a hit with the residents in the neighborhood.  It was obviously long overdue!!!   The park features a huge, wonderful baseball field, with sunken dugouts,  bullpens and hitting cages on both sides.  There are shaded bleachers and even a separate area for the scoreke...
