Folsom Lake Trails There's always something to do around El Dorado Hills.  Today my husband and I explored one of the many Folsom Lake trails. This was part of the New York Creek Trail that also goes down to the El Dorado Hills CSD if not further.  That's the furthest I've been at least! We caught the trail off Salmon Falls Road just east of the New York Creek bridge you see here, and followed it to where it feeds into the South Fork of the American River. The olympic games will resume in Sochi, Russia next month.  Couch potato's around the world will watch thousands of athletes, who have been honing their skills for years, compete for Olympic gold. While we are focused on these stunning performances we tend to forget that there are non-human athletes, some right in our own homes, practicing their specific set of skills as well.Some of this practice takes place when we are not there to observe. However, past evidence motivated us to leave the video camera on. Sango, my daughter's two-year old black Lab, is just such an athlete. Becoming a Better Homeowner...is an ongoing process... Too many of my clients have put every penny they had in to buying their home...that they either couldn't, or just haven't taken the overall maintenance of their investment, very serious. Just like planning and saving for Retirement it is necessary to plan and save for the maintenance of your home. Some of it, is simple and CHEAP!  Like just keeping note (somewhere you will actually look)  :) To change the filters for your furnace/intake, and to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide meters...do this every 6 months.  I write the date on the filters themselves, and just know-I changed the Batts. in my detectors at the same time... EL DORADO HILLS REAL ESTATE HOME SALES DATA – NOVEMBER 2013 The purpose of this post is to provide those interested in the El Dorado Hills Real Estate market data about that market.  This report covers November 2013, and the fourteen previous months. The first chart lists the cost-per-square-foot for all homes sold in El Dorado Hills by month.  There is only a slight fluctuation from month to month with a steady upward trend. We have hit a plateau during recent months and will not likely see another large increase until the home selling season hits in March/April of 2014. The November 2013 number of $197 is the second highest it has been in years and thirty-nine dollars higher than was the November 2012, an increase of 24.8%. Speechless Sunday - Jay's Citrus My husband really enjoys working in the yard and takes great pride in his Citrus trees.  The Satsuma above, didn't produce for a couple years and Jay was ready to yank it. Luckily he found out that the reason was probably because he had pruned it really hard a couple years ago.  This year it has a great crop, and as you can see, his lemon tree is loaded. We have a lime tree as well that he has already taken off and given away 3 5-gallon size paint buckets full and still has a couple buckets worth on the tree.  Citrus grow really well in El Dorado Hills.  If our temperatures get into the low 30's, they may need a little protection but for the most part, they like our heat and our sunshine!   _________________________________________ I am a REALTOR® in El ... 11/10/2013
