Celebrate on Nov.1-3 is Day of the Dead and Remember Loved Ones   Today is the start of 'Day of the Dead' known as Dia de Los Muertos. It is a Mexican holiday observed throughout Mexico, the United States and around the world in other cultures.  The holiday focuses on the gathering of family and friends to remember loved ones who have passed. Some build private alters (ofrendas) with sugar skulls, marigolds, and the food and drink of the loved one who passed. These items are placed at the graves and left. This holiday has been practiced for hundreds of years tracing back to the Aztecs. The 'Day of the Dead' was not practiced in Northern Mexico for a time as they have a strong Catholic influence and saw this celebration as a sign of pagonism. They instead celebrated 'All Saints Day' but ...

Meetup in Eastvale CA was a Great Networking Experience Sarah and Les Oswald planned and held a meetup yesterday at the Farmer's Boy in Eastvale CA. See this picture below; I call it "the boys in blue".   We had a great turnout and it was very nice to meet new people and see old friends from the last meetup in December. It was a blessing that the weather was foggy but nice yesterday as in December 2014 we had a really bad rainstorm that morning.  Here is Ana Hitzel showing her website pictures to Elizabeth. Ana Hitzel from Corona is a skilled and professional Home Stager and we always need their services to get our homes sold. Ana has staged a lot of beautiful homes.   If you have a meetup planned, be sure to go as they are so much fun. It is nice to get to know the people we meet on Ac...

Do Not Forget to Pay Your Property Taxes by December 10, 2013 or they will be LATE! Do Not Forget to Pay Your Property Taxes by December 10, 2013 or they will be LATE! Sometimes it is so confusing as to when your property taxes are due or if you just bought a home, the tax bill may arrive late but they will still charge you the penalties so make sure you stay on top of the due dates. As a recommendation: To avoid having the title company hold funds at close of escrow, instruct your sellers to pay the 1st installment property taxes in the form of a cashier’s check, payable to the Tax Collector. The check should be delivered to the title company who will document payment and forward the check to the Tax Collector. November 1st - First Installment Due Covers the tax period from July 1st ...

Termite 101- Everything you need to know about Termites to How to Rid Your Home Should I Worry About Termites? Homeowners across the nation spend billions of dollars to rid their homes of termites that are found to be silently munching. The process to rid the infestation of termites can be emotionally as well as expensive.   Is there a certain time of the year that they are worse? Yes, between March and May when the Swarming colonies try to get into your home to start new colonies. They only need 1/32 of an inch to enter.   What should I look for? Termites look like swarming ants but their waist and antennas are straight and their wings are all the same size. Many times you will see fine wood shavings at the baseboards or in the window sills. Termites are attracted to the light so many...

Wild Donkeys in the Hills of Southern California While driving in the South West hills of San Bernardino County, in the Reche Canyon area, I saw the wild donkeys. I am always so fascinated by their endurance to climate differences during the year.   They must deal with cars when crossing the roads, extreme hot and cold weather conditions and most important the lack of food and water but they still seem to remain for all these hundred of years.           Since the land they live on is not owned by the Federal government, their is no help for these adorable animals. They therefor must live off the land by instinct and by the help of local residents who supplement their water and food supply especially during the hot months.       Many residents stop and give them carrots and amazingly eno...

Colton CA REALTORS know that the Colton CA real estate market has stabilized and Colton CA home values are on the rise. This is great news for Colton home owners looking to increase their equity and sell their homes for a profit. In the recent two years we have seen Colton home values stabilize from the market crash that began in 2007 and 2008. Now, with real estate inventory so low in the Colton area, buyers are fighting over and over-bidding on reasonably priced homes on the market. In a "normal" real estate market, there is typically about six months of inventory on the market at any given time, but in today's Colton real estate market we are seeing only one to two months of inventory at any given time. In fact, homes are actually selling, or going into contract, within hours of bein...

Colton Short Sale Many Colton home sellers, whether they are selling the property as a standard sale, short sale or just curious about price-setting, have many questions and reservations. But the real estate market climate in Colton is not much of a mystery, its just hard sometimes to filter through the abundance of information to get simple answers. Colton homes are selling faster than listings are hitting the market. This creates a seller's market. Home prices have firmed up and are slowly rising. Also, standard sellers, or equity sellers, are still reluctant about selling due to still-low home values and their own mortgage loans that may keep their net profits from being able to clear cost of sale. Colton short sales are still hitting the market and are a large percentage of it, but ...

COLTON REAL ESTATE The Colton real estate market has been extremely volatile in the past few years, from foreclosures, short sales and standard sales as well. But Colton real estate transactions are still happening in spite of the market crash and tough market conditions. While it is true that many unfortunate Colton homeowners are losing their properties to foreclosure, foreclosing banks and lenders are not in any hurry to list their Colton foreclosed assets for sale. Banks have slowed the resale of their Colton foreclosures to a trickle to keep the real estate marketplace competitive for buyers and to not flood the supply. It is a great time to buy Colton real estate if you have the resources to do so, but there are many buyers and investors buying foreclosures. These conditions make...
