December CPI inflation rose 0.3% from November, matching the consensus projections. Core CPI, which excludes food & energy, increased 0.1% (also matching the consensus). Weekly jobless claims declined slightly to 326,000, which was also very close to expectations. The net result is an average 0.250 - 0.375 IMPROVEMENT to the points/credits associated with each interest rate option today thus far. Carmel Valley is a master-planned community located in between the metro inland and the central coastal communities in San Diego, California. It is the last open space being developed in the county and features a lot of newer construction. There are many larger homes available in this climate friendly area as well as condos and townhomes, with recent listings going into escrow listed from $220,000 all the way up to 2.9 million dollars. Since the market is rising, prices of more recent available active listings start a little higher, at $288,000 and even one listing priced at over $8 million. There are still 142 listings that are available and many homes sitting in contingent and pending status. I was so pleased that my friends at the Stonepine Equestrian Center in Carmel Valley invited me to come stay over the weekend. Anytime is beautiful here, but especially in the springtime when the weather is mild during the day and just a little cool at night, cool enough to sit by the fireplace with a glass of wine.   And speaking of wine, there are now 22 vineyards that have opened up their wine tasting rooms in Carmel Valley Village just down the road a couple of miles, and they are having a combined event this weekend, I understand. The tract called MONTECITO is Carmel Valley real estate located directly across the street from the TORREY HILLS shopping center. These Torrey Hils homes sell from the 800-900's.       This is a very nice place to call home in Carmel Valley which is walking distance to everything you'd need for daily life, you know what I'm talkin' bout, the park for the kiddies and doggies,  Starbucks, the cleaners, bagle store, Vons, minutes to Del Mar Beaches, yadi yah.
