As a buyer or seller in the Cardiff real estate market, having information about the current market conditions will enable you to make an informed decision regarding what to do with regard to buying a home in Cardiff, or selling your Cardiff home.  The Cardiff real estate market is small and very localized, and knowing what is going on with regard to inventory and sales is important for making a buying or selling decision. Finding comparables for determining price for either a listing or a purchase can sometimes be tricky because of the limited inventory.  READ MORE:   Cardiff by the Sea - Quintessential Beach Community  A Visual Tour of Cardiff-by-the-Sea Want to Live in a Musical Community? As a listing agent, you receive an offer on your listing.  You should reject the offer when: The offer doesn't make sense or seem reasonable It looks illegal You don't like the buyer's agent Your commission is too low NEVER Yes, this is a trick question!  The correct answer is #5, NEVER.  Why?  You should never, ever reject an offer.  Because YOU are not the Seller.  Your fiduciary duty is to present every offer to your Seller. So what should you do when you receive an offer? 1. Take a notepad and pen and sit down with the offer.  Read the entire offer.  As you read, write down questions.  Write down pros & cons of items that concern your Seller. 2. Call the buyer's agent and acknowledge receipt of the offer, thank her for the offer.  Get all your questions answered.  If the buyer's age...

Cardiff, or more properly known as Cardiff-by-the-Sea, is a small seaside community just south of Encinitas (they have their own zip code, 92007, but technically are part of Encinitas - town government, etc.). Cardiff has a long history as a surfing community, as many do in this area, and despite many changes in recent years - shops, restaurants, new and remodeled housing - it still retains the small-town feel so many residents and visitors enjoy. Who says it never rains in Southern California?  On Monday, I had the distinct pleasure of finally meeting face-to-face with a wonderful friend I met here in the Rain: Mary Yonkers.  And, let me tell ya...her profile photo doesn't do her justice.  She is even more beautiful in person.  She and her husband were at the tail end of a fabulous Alaskan cruise and I even got an exclusive sneak peek at the photos from her trip.  Thanks to fellow 'Rainer Russell Ray, Mary, her sweet husband Dave and I met up at The Beach House in Cardiff-by-the-Sea.  We got to have fabulous conversation, great food and wonderful views for a couple of hours.  Mary and I got along like old friends.  We all even laughed while watching a couple of people teach their dog how to surf.  Only in Southern California wi...

I was at the Because I Care Community Fair on Saturday in San Marcos as one of the representatives for the consortium I belong to - Professional Care Alliance. I met a number of interesting businesses while I was there, in addition to sharing information about what our consortium does. One business, in particular, stood out - Senior Move Masters.  Senior Move Masters, an innovative business in San Diego, was of particular interest given my new listing in Ocean Hills Country Club in Oceanside, a 55+ community. Here's why.  Senior Move Masters provides a range of useful services to assist seniors who are moving, especially in cases where downsizing is important. Senior Move Masters helps to develop a game plan for the move including assisting with making decisions about what to take and w...

Discovering a new restaurant and having a memorable experience is always a pleasure, and in the case of a small number of Cardiff restaurants, Trattoria Postiano in Cardiff-by-the-Sea California, I was not disappointed. Trattoria Positano delights in many ways. One can easily imagine being in Italy while dining at this friendly, family-run restaurant. And with glimpses of the ocean and the setting sun through the palm trees (depending on where your table is) while enjoying home-made pasta, among other traditional Italian preparations, with good friends and conversation, I couldn't have been happier. Except, perhaps, actually BEING in Italy.  My Salmone al Saltimbocca was excellent. I am a big fan of fava beans which were hidden beneath the salmon, prosciutto, potato and a wonderful sauc...
