  Tomorrow, May 16th, is the Capitola Art and Wine Kickoff Party which will run from 6 to 9 P.M. The event will feature wine tasting from 22 different wineries from the local area as well as delicious hors d’oeuvres provided by Zameen Mediterranean Cuisine. Riding your bike or walking through the Opal Cliffs neighborhood is spectacular. You can walk from Opal Cliffs to Pleasure Point and down to Capitola Village. Sunday, April 29, 2012 "Good Night" from the beaches of CAPITOLA California   With warm temperatures on the Pacific Coast what a better way to spend the weekend than at Capitola California only minutes south from Santa Cruz. Capitola was packed with surfers, girls in bikinis, children and more.  There were so many people at Capitola that Robert Vegas Bob Swetz had to walk up the beach to get away from the crowds of people. CAPITOLA HOME VALUES - MARKET REPORT What is going on with Capitola home values this year?  Across Santa Cruz county the real estate market is changing.  Multiple offers are common on all well-priced homes, even fixers.  Buyers are out in force because they want to take advantage of historic low interest rates and the dip in real estate prices. Capitola home values are starting to trend upwards.  The Capitola median home sale price since the beginning of 2012 has gone up each month.  In March, the Capitola median home sale price was $677,500, with an average price per square foot of $460. The number of Capitola homes for sale was way up in March when there were 10 homes that closed escrow.  That is a huge number for Capitola, as it is such a small community.
