My closing 30 in 30 was supposed to be this post and I missed his birthday again;    Today would have marked the 178th birthday (November 30, 1835 – April 21, 1910) for Samuel Langhorne Clemens or by his pen name, Mark Twain as most of us remember him. Still read and enjoyed by many, Twain made a substantial amount of money through his writings, but he lost a great deal through bad investments, mostly in inventions or new technology. In my opinion that was probably a good thing for us as he kept returning to his writing for much needed income. It eventually caused him to file Bankruptcy, for protection from his creditors. After all was said and done, he was back on his feet and although not required to by law he paid back every last person that was included in his Bankruptcy.      Th...

There are just some things in life that will make you laugh, regardless of how silly.... this is one of them!    A young man named John received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude byconsistently saying only polite words, playing soft music andanything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird'svocabulary. Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. Theparrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hands, grabbed the bird andput him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly the...

7 September Celebrations By Michelle Carr Crowe, Silicon Valley guide and Cupertino real estate agent   Did you know there are seven September celebrations (at least)? It’s true. For example September is not only Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, it’s also Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. (That’s appropriate, isn’t it?) September is also Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month and Infant Mortality Awareness Month. (Sadly, drugs and alcohol are contributing factors to low birth weight, birth defects and failure to thrive syndrome in babies.) The next three easily go together: Apple Month, Chicken Month and Cholesterol Education Month. So enjoy eating roasted chicken and fresh apples instead of fried chicken and apple pie to improve those cholesterol levels. Did you know September was ori...

Working with first time buyer’s it is very common to have the question asked, “Do I really need to have all these inspections done, it just seems like a big waste of money?”    With a brief explanation of our health and the yearly physical examinations (we should be having) that we have with the same being true for a home. Now i'm not saying that we need yearly inspections on our home by any means. However,  just as a doctor could find an abnormality in our blood or X-rays like a vitamin deficiancy or a broken bone, a home inspector may find a leaky pipe or even a crack in the foundation.    Mystery's are solved, money well spent on both counts and this analogy has never failed me to get my point across to consumers in well over a decade of using it!

The following graphs shows how the Campbell real estate market has been performing for the past 12 months.  Campbell is a highly desirable place to live with a good mix of Single Family Homes and Condos. It's proximity to the job centers of high tech that Silicon Valley has to offer, and easy freeway access to both Highway 880 and highway 280, it makes for an ideal place to live that seems close to everything Santa Clara County has to offer.  The following graphs and data were taken from the local Multiple Listing Service, MLSListings, Inc. and are deemed accurate but not guaranteed.

First Friday Downtown Campbell | Beatnik Night Friday June 7, 2013Kick off some summer fun Downtown Campbell on Friday, June 7, 2013 First Fridays happen rain or shine in Downtown Campbell from 6:00pm - 9:00pm on the first Friday of every month. Downtown Campbell at E. Campbell Avenue and CentralThe theme on Friday, June 7, 2013 revolves around beatniks! The term "beatnik" is a term my dad used a lot. The younger generation may never have heard the term beatnik.  It certainly is not a term that is used much today. Beatnik preceded the "hippie" movement by about 10-15 years. Beatniks were considered the "cool 50's youth culture that hung out in coffee shops playing bongos and reciting poetry and experimenting with marijuana."According to Wiki: "Beatnik was a media stereotype of the 1950s ...

Second Saturdays in Downtown Campbell - Summer Fun Are you looking for fun things to do this summer?  Consider 2nd Saturdays in downtown Campbell. The cost to attend these fun summer events is FREE.  From 2:00pm - 6:00pm on the second Saturday of every month Downtown Campbell has fun for the entire family. This event draws people from all over the bay area. There are many small business downtown Campbell as well as many restaurants.  My favorite restaurant for a hearty breakfast is Stacks.  This place is hopping on the weekends. There is often a wait to be seated but it is well worth it.  Stacks has outdoor dining as well. We often choose outdoor dining so that our dog, Molly, can be with us while we enjoy breakfast. My favorite place for lunch or dinner is the Sonoma Chicken Coop. Whil...
