An annual tradition in the city of Campbell, Calif. is the Oktoberfest, always held the third weekend in October.Free admission, free parking and free music all day both Saturday, October 19 feom 10a-6p and Sunday, October 20, 10a-5p.Campbell closes down the downtown streets to vehicle traffic and both regular merchants and restaurants plus tons of vendors selling bratwurst, beer, pretzels and all things good, German and beer-related-along with just fun stuff.The Home Church, the Campbell Chamber of Commerce's "Business of the Year" has a booth offering free face painting and surveyed event attendees about "Who do you think Jesus was?  July 23 is Vanilla Ice Cream Day-Yumm! On a hot summer day, what could be more cool, refreshing and delicious than vanilla ice cream?There's soft spot in my heart (and mouth) for vanilla ice cream, as it was my Daddy's favorite. Memories of our family enjoying soft-serve vanilla ice cream cones on Sundays after church at Dairy Queen are sweet to recall. To sample this same creamy soft-serve vanilla goodness, visit the only Dairy Queen in Santa Clara County, located in Campbell, at 2255 Winchester Blvd. To be fair, there are Orange Julius/Dairy Queen outlets at Westgate Mall in West San Jose and Westfield Oakridge Shoppingtown in South San Jose. I suspect most people's first taste of ice cream is the flavor of vanilla-especially if they were young children when first sampling this tasty... 07/22/2019

            As reported by the San Jose Mercury News, the Campbell Pruneyard Sold to Regency Centers. Formerly owned and recently renovated by Ellis Partners, the 15.9 acre Pruneyard retail complex at South Bascom and East Campbell Avenues has been purchased by Florida-based Regency Centers.
