Brentwood Ca Real Estate - It is not the Size of the Company – It is the Size of the Service! If you are considering Buying a Home or Selling a Home in Brentwood Ca 94513 or any where in East Contra Costa County there are many Real Estate Firms to choose from. Many of those firms will try to impress you with their size. For example let's talk about “Goliath” Real Estate. They will have many agents and be sure to tell you about them. They will have teams and big numbers of sales. They will dazzle you with statistics. Goliath Real Estate will seem invincible. What Goliath Real Estate may not tell you is many of the agents on the team come and go and many have very few sales. Goliath does not care, he collects his desk fees and if per chance they sell something well then he makes a little ...

Summerset Homes in Brentwood Ca – Your Purchasing a Lifestyle! Summerset Homes are a great 55+ Community in Brentwood Ca. I avoid the term retirement community as many people in the community are not retired. At 55 many people still working consider Summerset Homes in anticipation of retirement and although they are still working they are also ready for the down sizing, less maintenance and a nice single story home. When you do retire your Summerset Home is more than a Home it is a Summerset Community. Summerset Homes offer a social environment for people at the same stage of life. Summerset Homes are gated. Each Summerset Community has a club house, swimming pool, hot tub, library, many social groups and clubs, golf, tennis courts, and much more. Each of the four Summerset Communities ...

This is Janson – All Boy My sister calls him “Denise the Menace” and he has been known to get in a bit of trouble. He is my one son that is small in stature, but he eats like a horse and sneaks food like a teenager. Yesterday Janson had Baseball tryouts of Pinto Jr. I was filled with lots of trepidation as I know my son's talent level. I had considered seeing if you he could play down in a younger division this year. But you know he did OK at tryouts. Not a super star – yet, but no worse than many of the kids and better than some. Like in many aspects of life we tend to be overly aware of our own short comings. Sometimes we magnify the strength of others while downplaying our own strengths. We will never know how good we can be if we don't try and we will never get good if we give up. T...

You Cannot Just Read About Things – You need to Walk the Ground I am a history buff and love to read about the Battles of the Civil War and the American Revolution, amongst other things. Now in California we do not have a lot of Battle Fields. There were a few Indian Battles and a few riots during the Civil War, but nothing to speak of like in the Eastern Part of the county. I was privileged to visit the Battle Field at Shiloh where one of my Great – Great Grandfathers fought with an Iowa Regiment. No matter how much read about a Battle or Look at a map you cannot really understand the battle without walking the ground. To actually see the lay of the land and to get a feel for the actually distances gives and incredible insight. The opposite can be true also. Sometimes a good overview i...

Gene's NFL Thoughts Well the last several weeks I have been making NFL picks. Started out well and went down hill. I should have quit while I was hot. This week there is only one game to call. However, first I will outline what I would like to see in the NFL: An 18 Game Season with only 2 pre-season games. Throw in an extra bye week for a 20 week season. There are lots of advantages to this as you will see below. I like Thursday Night Football, but the players have a point that it is too hard on the teams that have that really short week, especially the traveling team. Well with two bye weeks, both Thursday teams should have the week before as a bye week. That takes care of that problem. Not only that but teams that play on Monday night should be at home the next week. Teams complain to...

Brentwood Ca Karate Any of you that have read my post know that I like to keep my boys busy in sports. I have 6 boys and the oldest four all do different things. This does not mean they are good at it all the time but they have to participate in something. The other rule I have is that I choose what you do, unless and until you have a real passion for something; then you can choose. I will let them try different things on a casual level too. Well my 3rd son Weston was born 6-7 weeks early and spent his first month in the premie nursery. He has a sensory processing disorder which sometimes makes him both socially and physically awkward. He has struggled with baseball and wrestling. Well he kept saying he wanted to try Karate. My wife spotted a special of 6 weeks including the uniform for...

More NFL Predictions and Insights Last week I wrote a well received post called: I am Calling My Shots in the NFL Playoffs and Sounding off on Tim Tebow! Now I don't want to brag – actually I do, but I called all 4 games last week. And I did it before the games started! I also made predictions in advance on this weeks games and I am sticking by them. You will just have to go read them to see what they are. Here are a few thoughts and comments: Saints are an excellent team with more playoff experience than the Niners. But Niners have the # 1 Defense and are playing at home. What wins in the Playoffs? Defense. Of course anything can happen. More on Tim Tebow (and you should read last weeks post first). America loves and underdog and they love people with a work ethic. They love people who...

Yes you are a proud parent and then the shock of all shocks occurs, your family doctor tells you that there is a new bundle of joy on the way. Your heart skips a beat because you know your cute 3 bedroom ranch style home is not big enough, but you can’t make Billy change school districts it could have such a huge effect on his grades!! Skip his grades it could cause a drastic change in him, (this is where a huge variety of scary thoughts run thru your mind) so what do you do? Well if I were you, the first thing I would do is find my local Brentwood REALTOR (like me)...
