After a long, busy day at the office, I arrived home to my boyfriend and his daughter in a very hungry mood around 6 PM.  I hadn’t planned anything for dinner, and there wasn’t anything magically awaiting me on the table so we decided to head out and try a newer place on San Pablo Avenue called 938 Crawfish.  I’ve been to Rockin’ Crawfish in Oakland so I pretty much knew what to expect but he had never tried anything like it and his 8 year old daughter was already protesting even though she had no idea what was there. YUMMMMYYY!  We go there right before the 4-6:30 happy hour ended so we quickly ordered a half dozen oysters for $1 each and an order of calamari for $5.50.  The oysters were from Washington and tasted fresh and delicious and the calamari was awesome!  It had a very crunchy... 07/14/2014

Sometimes it is confusing to me that a contractor calls himself a contractor then installs the roofing material so water goes under the roofing materials on the way to the outside edge. Oh, and want a payment for the roof... NOT  They peeled back the bottom two layers at the first half course of shingles so it fit the gutter better, maybe. LOL Then again maybe they did it to disguise the fact there were already two or three layers of roofing when they added this last layer.     This is a good reason to have a draw inspector and not just pay for the work with a contractor invoice saying it is complete.  This roof might not leak for a couple of years but when it does no one will know it till it starts rotting out. The problem is going to be the same in both cases. The question you should be asking is "how do I find a good FHA 203k consultant?" They are not all the same just like all Realtor's are not the same. I see some that go way overboard to provide a quality service for their clients and others that do the bare minimum and they draw the same fee. So please don't just look for a consultant, find a good one. The biggest difference is going to be in the service they provide to the client. Yup, I did it!  To be honest, right now, I probably can’t run half a mile without stopping, but what the heck.  I recently signed up for the Marin Monster 10k run!  This means I’ll be attempting to run 6.2 miles.  Not only is that a little crazy, but the first 2 miles is all uphill and half of that is UP uphill, I’m talking, you can’t see a few blocks ahead of you because it’s so steep!   The run is the first ever 10k in Albany, CA.  The race will start at the Albany Community Center and heads straight up Marin Avenue alllll the day to Grizzly Peak before looping down Spruce and Los Angeles and (at some point, hopefully still on my feet) making it back to the Albany Community Center for a parrrtyyy!  As nervous as I am, I’m very excited to have this goal to work towards.  I’m also equal... 06/18/2014

I never take more than 30 minutes to look at a single family unit as there just isn't enough money in a feasibility report to warrant more time. This last week was riddled with questions of "can I do this with an FHA 203k?" 1) I have a house on a lot zoned for a triplex and large enough for a triplex. Can I build two more units on this lot using the 203k? Yes, you can.  2) I have a single family home on a lot zoned for a duplex. Can I add a second unit on top of the first or existing unit? Yes, it is possible. The foundation may not be able to support the weight so, if not, it may be better to lift the existing home and install the second unit on the bottom as you replace the foundation.
