What's Yellow and Black & White All Over? - Home Staging Vancouver - Before & After Photos My company, Exit Stage Right, Vancouver Home Staging, had the pleasure of staging another condo in this new-build apartment tower.  This unit is pretty small, so making the space look spacious and yet have multi functions was paramount.  The demographic for the building is very mixed.  There are older buyers who are gravitating towards the more expensive units and penthouses, and then there are the younger crowd, just getting in the market, who are happy with a smaller, less expensive unit.  For this condo, I went with attracting a young, hip, happening crowd.  Ironically, I used some mid-century modern pieces, such as the LC1 chairs by Courboisier, but hey, what's old is new again.  These are cl...

North Vancouver Home Staging - Lower Lonsdale "Before & After" Photos My Vancouver Home Staging Company, Exit Stage Right, was very happy to stage this vacant townhouse, located on Lower Lonsdale in North Vancouver.  The location for the townhouse is fantastic, situated only one block from the Lonsdale Quay Market, and a quick Sea Bus ride away from downtown Vancouver.  Everything is within walking distance. The townhouse itself looked pretty stark, bare, and uninviting with no furniture, colour or life to the property.  The beige walls and empty, cavernous space was not very appealing to a young, urban professional or couple, who are looking for a certain lifestyle.  Enter Exit Stage Right!  Alright, I will admit that I will be traveling off to Paris this weekend, and was perhaps inf...

Canada Day Parade - North Vancouver, B.C. - July 1, 2011 This year's Canada Day Parade in North Vancouver, celebrates Canada's 144th Birthday.  Although the weather was dull and overcast, the rain held off, and we spectators were privy to a fun, community event that makes us feel proud to be Canadian and North Vancouverites, all at the same time.  We gave a big round of applause to the motorcycle police.  Heaven knows the police have gone through enough after the antics of the latest and hopefully last Stanley Cup riot.  We also were treated to the blood-stirring sounds of bagpipes, marching bands and ethnic dancers.  The local  firefighters came out in full force, with many of their trucks lined up in the parade.  Here are a few photos captured from this morning's parade. HAPPY CANADA ...

Lonsdale Quay Market in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver:  Something Fishy's Going On The Quay is home to some wonderful seafood shops, and your first stop should be The Salmon Shop.  Located at the south end of the Quay, The Salmon Shop boasts some wonderful, freshly caught salmon and other sundry fish.  This shop looks, feels and definitely smells authentic.  It's the kind of place where you would expect Captain Ahab to wander by, or where the guy behind the counter would hum   "I'se the Bye" under his breath.  There's a fabulous array of fresh, locally caught Digby scallops, wonderfully thick chunks of freshly caught crab, and salmon so large, it could feed an army.  The Salmon Shop offers lots of fresh Salmon, as well as the B.C. Famous Barbeque Sauce I told these fellas to look "sna...

Lonsdale Quay Market in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver The Lonsdale Quay Market, located in the Lower Lonsdale area of North Vancouver, is a mecca for anyone searching for fresh, local produce, freshly cut flowers, fish, meat, delis, arts & crafts, clothing, local wine, and great restaurants.  The Quay came to life during Expo 86, and hasn't looked back.  Located right by the ocean, near a working ship building site, Lonsdale Quay has attracted foodies and latte lovers alike.  This is a wonderful place to hang out in the summer, sit on the deck, and look across at the downtown Vancouver skyline.  Lower Lonsdale is a neighbourhood of condos and townhouses, with everything you'd need within walking distance.  There is a distinct west coast maritime feel all around, complete with brightly...

Home Staging Tip - Space Planning is Important - Home Staging Vancouver My company, Exit Stage Right, was hired recently to prepare this cute bungalow for sale.  This home has a lot of great features, including beautiful, refinished, hardwood floors with inlay, and a wood-burning fireplace. When I first visited the home, it was clear that two young children had invaded the space with all their toys, bouncy chairs, cute baby pictures, sippy cups etc.  This is life with young children, and completely understandable.  However, when selling the home, the "day care" look had to go! The other item that immediately struck me upon entering the living room, was that the focal point, the fireplace, was almost completely covered by a big, leather lounge chair.  It was almost as if the most importa...
