This is an update from the association of Realtors sent out today (2-24-09): A couple with a 13-year-old boy asked to look at an occupied home for their parents who live in San Diego.  They gave the impression they were very interested in the home.  In the process, the boy used the bathroom.  After further discussion with the Realtor, the sellers determined their medication was missing.  The couple was driving a white pick-up truck with no license plate; however, it did have a paper registration. They were possibly of middle-eastern origin.  The woman and boy were heavy set. This report is very similar to the one received by the association in December 2008.  There is a male, approximately 40 years old, attending open houses of occupied homes in Sun City. Sun City West Golf Course Swans        There are many swans that reside in Sun City West golf courses.  They are cared for by volunteers who drive  golf carts clearly marked, "Swan Volunteer". I saw these Sun City West swans while showing property near Deer Valley Golf Course.  It's a lazy afternoon of primping and relaxing, just as what most retirees want to do when moving to a Phoenix retirement community. 02/11/2009

       The stately Saguaro cactus is one of the most prized in Arizona landscapes. A Saguaro is always planted on a mound as it requires no watering. Arms grow to prevent the Saguaro from falling.  The value of the plant is determined by its height and the number of arms.  Periodically people purchase an old Saguaro for their landscaping. The moving process is quite delicate. The Saguaro is labeled such that it is re-planted in the exact orientation as where it grew.  01/28/2009

Wordless Wednesday .........COME HERE SILLY RABBIT!     I'm from the Big Island of Hawaii.  We have lots of strange animals in Hawaii, but certainly no coyotes. It took me time to get accustomed in seeing them roam the backyards and streets. Since I've move here, I've seen them everywhere. If you own a dog, keep a careful vigilance, they love little ones that they can snatch. The rabbit population is very slim lately. Rabbits and dogs are a delectable dish for any coyote.  01/07/2009

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation has announced the grand opening of the newly constructed entrance to Loop 303 that is located on Deer Valley Road close to El Mirage Road.  The new road connects Deer Valley Road to El Mirage Road and to Loop 303. The ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 10am at the south end near Deer Valley Drive. Click here for map of the newly constructed road.
