More Americans surveyed now believe it would be easy for them to get a mortgage, according to Fannie Mae’s January 2014 national survey of consumer attitudes in housing. Attitudes among consumers about how easily they could get a mortgage climbed 2 percentage points to an all-time survey high of 52%, while those who think it would be difficult dropped 3 points to 45%. This means consumers perceive that mortgage credit is more accessible. “A majority of consumers now believe that it is getting easier to get a mortgage. For the first time in the National Housing Survey’s three-and-a-half-year history, the share of respondents who said it is easy to get a mortgage surpassed the 50% mark, exceeding those who said it would be difficult by 7 percentage points,” said Doug Duncan, senior vice ...

The Market Report for San Tan Valley December 2013 reveals a number of interesting statistics regarding the local real estate market. The San Tan Valley area includes neighborhoods such as Johnson Ranch, Morning Sun Farms, Pecan Creek, San Tan Heights and Ironwood Crossing. The local market insight tells us that the number of new listings in San Tan Valley in December 2013 fell by 44.3% from November, from 221 new listings down to 123. The number of new contracts was down by 11.7% from 137 in November, down to 121 in December. The number of closed sales increased by 28.3% from November, from 106 closings to 136 closed sales in December. The median sold price increased to $150,000 in December, up 3.5% from November and up 18.2% from December 2012 when the median home price was at $126,90...
