Construction of a new elementary school in the Chandler Unified School District is expected to break ground this fall. The students and faculty at the current Weinberg Elementary will be moved to the new building, while the existing one will be transformed into the district’s second gifted academy.CUSD expects the gifted school to start out with a reasonable number of students and will grow to about 750 students within a four to five-year span.
