Tie the Knot at the camping day at Pinkston Middle School, Mountain Home, Arkansas  I got a call earlier this week asking me to help with a school program being held at the Pinkston Middle School in Mountain Home today.   The Special Education classes were having an outdoor day where they got to focus on some outdoor skills.  The students wanted to be able to put up some tents and play old time outdoor games.   One of the teachers told me that the students had really been looking forward to it, and I was happy to be of help.  They had 24 inch long nylon cord for us to use so that all the students would have a hands on experience in learning some basic knot skills.                       We tied the square knot first, and when all of the students knew the difference between a "Granny knot...

Cuddles for Comfort by Mountain Home, AR Teen to benefit children in Arkansas Children's Hospital.  This story I read in Our local paper The Baxter Bulletin here in Mountain Home really touched my heart!  Ali, a 16 year old Mountain Home High School student was recently hospitalized at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.   She saw a need at the Hospital for a way to comfort the young patients treated there.  Ali started Cuddles for Comfort to raise money to purchase stuffed animals to be given to the patients which are young children.  Ali is working with community groups as well as students at the local schools to collect the funds to make the project a reality.   Cuddles for Comfort by Mountain Home, AR Teen to benefit children in Arkansas Children's Hospital is a great examp...

Stop the Rain!!!!   Ok, Please stop the rain.  Here in the Northern Arkansas area of the Ozark Mountains we have received roughly 15 inches of rain in less than a week. We kept our mouths shut the first few days...after all, the good folks in Texas are fighting wild fires, and we were actually in a bit of a drought.   Stop the Rain!!!!  Our crystal clear waters of Bull Shoals Lake and Lake Norfork look more like chocolate milk right now than trophy bass producers.  Lake Norfork has risen over  23. 24 feet in less than a week!  The lakes were built to provide flood protection for the White River valley and they have done their jobs! The forecast for the beautiful Twin Lakes, Mountain Home, Arkansas area is for sunshine Thursday and Friday....that will be a relief!  The waters will clear ...

A Beautiful Time in The Ozarks near Mountain Home, Arkansas.  I have not posted for a few days.  I was tied up with a closing for a great buyer client that has bought a home here in the Mountain Home area to be near their daughter and family......grand kids are my favorite motivator! The other reason for my absence was the death of my wife's dear Great Aunt.  We traveled to Hot Springs, Arkansas for funeral last Thursday.  We all grieved, but as was usual with Aunt Leta, the smiles, hugs, and good times were remembered and it turned into a family reunion. This time of the year it is A Beautiful Time in The Ozarks near Mountain Home, Arkansas.  The drive south was made easier by the all the beautiful flowering Red bud, Dogwood, and Wild Plum trees that were enjoyed along the highways and...

Old Fashioned Fun Tonight!  The Mountain Home Arkansas Junior Auxilary is sponsoring a Donkey Basketball game tonight at the Mountain Home Junior High School gym.                                                               The entry fee for the fun and games is only $8 at the door.  The Junior Auilary does so many good things for people here in the Mountain Home area.  The most recent that I am aware of was A Very Merry Christmas for a local family that had been fighting mom's serious illness and dad's layoff.  This family had an abundance of gifts of all shapes and sizes for all the kids....The smiles and squeals of joy were reward enough for the ladies and all of us that got to see it. For more information on the Old Fashioned Fun Tonight call me at 870-404-3614, or drop me an email.

Inevitable...Spring!  We have been fortunate here in the Mountain Home area.  We have had several days in the upper 60's and low 70's already.                                              March 1st dawned cold and crisp.  We even have frost this morning...no complaints though.  It is supposed to be near 70 by this afternoon.  The Ozark hills will soon be alive with the colors of spring.  The Johnny jump-ups (jonquils)  have already poked their heads out to welcome Inevitable...Spring!

Sold with USDA Loan  320 Magness Drive...Just outside Mountain Home, Arkansas, a beautiful custom built 3 Bedroom ranch-type home in a nice subdivision.  I cringed when my potential buyers told me they wanted to go USDA because of the funding restrictions and all the secondary issues lately...                                                        The Mortgage broker called me 3 weeks into the transaction to let me know the buyers looked great, but....the underwriters wanted more comparables.  The appraisor had 3 comparable sales and 3 comparable listings in the same subdivision, all within 6 months. This subdivision only has 50 homes in it...We did some digging and sent them 3 more comparable sales.  The Appraisal actually went up with the new comparables.  GREAT NEWS!  It is really ni...

Deck The Halls Open House in Mountain Home, Arkansas started with a Garland and bow on a door at Century 21 LeMac Realty.  It morphed over the next 3 or 4 days to an "Oh My Goodness moment" when I had a client with a 3 year old daughter walk in the office and put her hands over her mouth in that classical pose.                             The agents at My office decided to "Deck The Halls" and we brought in decorations from home...purchased some goodies to embellish the look...not to mention do our part to stimulate the economy, and as they they...The rest is history.   Well, almost history.  The Owner/Broker decided that she just had to share this....event with the public!  You are cordially invited to Century 21 LeMac Realty Main office located at 1024 Highway 62 East in Mountain Home...
