Edmond Lincoln was born in Oakland, California back in 1905 to “Big Ed” and Ella Mae. At 10 his family moved to San Francisco. At 14 he left school to work as an errand boy to help his family survive. He tried to be a jockey however his weight prevented him from riding. He also won an amateur contest at a vaudeville theater in San Francisco and he was smitten.As they say the rest is history. He had a song and dance routine in 1926. During one of his vaudeville tours to the East Coast he met someone that would change his life forever. From that chance meeting he was offered an appearance to play the one-time role of a “redcap”, look it up. Anyway five weeks later he was called upon again for another radio show.
