Trussville Alabama:  It's Where You Want to Live 30DC15. On August 27th I reported that 11 homes had sold in Trussvile Alabama during the month of August..  This morning I decided to take a look back and see how Trussville fared for the entire month.  I don't know why, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that number of closed sales grew from 11 to 20 in just 4 days. That's just another testimony to the attractiveness of the growing community of Trussville, Alabama.  The other day I heard someone refer to Trussville as the new Hoover, Al.  Could they be right? For those who want to put it to the test before making a commiitment to purchase in Trussville Alabama, you can try this on for size:  6245 Jonathans Way in the Pilgrims Rest subdivision is for rent.  Loaded with features such as...

Big Is Beautiful   More space is always a good thing, so don't miss this opportunity to move your family into this stately brick home in Trussville, Alabama.  With up to 5 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, you'll still have room to grow.  This home boast of a formal dining room and traditional living room.  The master suite is located on the first level and it has a tremendously spacious master bath with dual sinks, a jetted tub and separate glass enclosed shower (built for two).  There are hardwood floors throughout this beautiful home that's nestled on a "picturesque" street.   What better way to relax on a cool winter evening than to snuggle up in front of the fireplace in the living room.  It's difficult to escape this vision in my head.  This is a perfect home for a move up family or exe...

Trussville Alabama City Schools Continually Meet AYP When considering the purchase of a new home, even more important than the home itself is the quality of the education available to the children. Schools are basically second homes to children, not meant to rare the children, but to adequately preparing them for fully productive lives stemming, in part from a quality education. The measure for rating a school's (or school system's) success is by the systems' Adequate Yearly Progress otherwise known as "AYP."  AYP is a crucial element of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLBA).  The U.S. Department of Education's website states that "Under the NCLBA, each State establishes a definition of "adequate yearly progress" (AYP) to use each year to determine the achievement of each school district...

HEWITT TRUSSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony     This morning I attended the ceremony to induct new members into the National Junior Honor Society at Hewitt Trussville Middle School.   The ceremony was led by the Chapter Advisor, Amanda McIntosh, who also teaches 7th grade English.  It's obvious that she loves her students and is very proud of their accomplishments.  The auditorium was filled with proud families who came to see their 7th and 8th graders receive this special honor!         Last year my granddaughter, Molly, was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society and this year she served as the group's Historian.  She and the other officers welcomed the new members with certificates, pins and candles that they lit as they recited the Hono...

Richard's 2nd Birthday Party   I've been looking for something to post about while trying to embed a video that I took with my Flip camera. This past Sunday we went to a birthday party for my youngest grandchild.  Richard turned two years old and invited his family and friends to celebrate at the new Trussville Civic Center.  I took lots of photos, but he was all over the place and I have a lot of blurry ones!  It was a good thing I had my Flip with me so I could try my luck with that.  Of course, when I pulled that out he quit moving!   He got lots of gifts and this little guitar that he got from his Uncle Dan seemed to be one of his favorites.......

I have started to notice that in the Birmingham (and surrouding markets), Alabama market the new construction foreclosures have started to deplete. I have also noticed that the banks are taking less offers than before. I know other areas of the US are still experiencing bad markets but the Alabama market has started looking up. In the past week I have written 5 offers on different properties. I will be able to work out at least 4 of them. I think that it is important for us (Realtors) to report any positive news that we can. With the media taking care of all the negative publicity someone needs to put the positive out. Alabama prices are not dropping as bad as other areas so we don't seem to have the problem that others do. Don't get me wrong, our market is not what it used to be but ho...
