Free Gas for Huntsville Drivers Submitted by: Kimberly Grant, Huntsville Real Estate Agent Huntsville/Madison Real Estate BlogWell, I am back with more great news about Huntsville Alabama!!!  More accolades have come to the Huntsville Area!!!  A recent Allstate study has ranked Huntsville NUMBER FIVE as the country's safest drivers.  In honor of this outstanding accomplishment, Allstate wants to compensate drivers with free gas.  The gas giveaway is open to everyone, but each car will be limited to 10 gallons of gas.  The gas giveaway will be held on Wednesday morning July 25th from 9am to 11am at the Chevron station at 501 Drake Avenue in Huntsville.  Allstate representatives anticipate giving away about 3,500 gallons of gas.  They are expecting to be able to serve about 400 customers....

BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure) is finally making some more progress Huntsville Alabama and the Redstone Arsenal with a potential of 4,500 federal jobs moving to the area.  Just recently SMDC (US Army Space & Missile Defense Command) headquarters officially became a part of Redstone Arsenal when its flag was officially transferred from Arlington Virginia to Redstone Arsenal Alabama.  This move brings approximately 180 SMDC positions to Huntsville.In addition to SMDC headquarters, the majority of the Missile Defense Agency, which serves all branches of the armed forces, the Army Materiel Command headquarters and the Army Security & Assistance Command headquarters are being moved to Redstone as well.Other BRAC related moves include:Headquarters, AMC and USASAC (~ 1,700 positions)Headq...

 Madison County again leads the state of Alabama in new and expanding business as of 2006.  With 48 projects and 4,602 new jobs in 2006 that's almost twice as many jobs as any other county in the state of Alabama.  The Alabama Development Office released a 2006 New and Expanding Industry Report which revealed that Madison County led the state of Alabama in jobs announed for new companies with 1,352.  Baldwin County came in 2nd with 1,135 new jobs.  Madison County was the top leader with 43 companies announcing 3,250 new jobs for the area.  Jefferson County came in 2nd with 44 companies announcing 1,610 new jobs.  Click here for more information about Huntsville/Madison County.  If you are thinking of relocating to this area, give me a call or contact me for more information!

Huntsville Traffic and Construction Update Submitted by: Kimberly Grant, Huntsville Real Estate AgentHuntsville/Madison AL Real Estate BlogI have GREAT news for anybody that has to travel on Sullivan Street through Madison.  Reports say that Sullivan Street will be OPEN to traffic starting Monday.  It seems like Sullivan Street has been closed FOREVER but it is about to open again through Downtown Madison.  Construction crews will still be there a while but at least you won't have to go through that detour.  One time I was stuck in that detour for almost 45 minutes.  In the summer Alabama heat, it seemed like an eternity.  Nevertheless, Monday Sullivan Street is expected to open again. Huntsville Fireworks Ban Lifted for July 4th HolidaySubmitted by: Kimberly Grant, Huntsville Real Estate Agent Huntsville Real Estate BlogAs you all know, we are in the midst of a drought here in Alabama.  Because of the drought, there was a ban placed on fireworks here in our area.  Mainly the reason of the ban was due to concerns about fire from the dry conditions.  However, the July 4th holiday has cause a lift in the ban on fireworks.  The only exception is rocket or missle type fireworks and any type of fireworks with rudders and fins that can fly out of your immediate control of where they go.  I am sure that fireworks dealers will be very happy to hear of the lift in time for the holiday.  Residents are encouraged to keep a hose or some water source on hand in case of fire.  The ...
