Roy Williams of The Birmingham News wrote an article this week, Birmingham-Hoover has lowest jobless rate of nation's big cities, bureau says. According to the article, for metropolitan areas of about one million, the Birmingham-Hoover area had the lowest unemployment rate in the nation for October 2007. That is great news.In September, the Birmingham-Hoover area ranked 6th at 3.3%. In October, it dropped to 2.7%.
