In Loving Memory of Eloise Hause.....108 Great Years!   Today my double first cousin twice removed passed away.  I wrote about visiting her last summer, when she was still living in her home in Hartford, Alabama.  She celebrated her 108th birthday December 29th, 2009.         Eloise was an amazing lady, full of personality and mischief even in her advanced age.  She lived longer than all her siblings and cousins (with the exception of her cousin Nina who is still living), remaining in her own home until just a few months ago.  I'm not sure exactly when it was that she agreed to allow someone to stay with her at her house, but only a few years ago she was still piddling around in her yard which she loved!           Eloise and my grandmother, Lillian, were double first cousins, each wer... 02/11/2010

      NO.....IT'S NOT ME!!!!   Today I drove to Hartford, Alabama with my mom and my brother to take care of some family business.  While we were there we visited Eloise Hause, who is my grandmother's double first cousin.  Two brothers (Hardwicks) married two sisters (Corbitts) and both families had a bunch of children.  Eloise was the oldest and she is 107......and looking forward to celebrating another birthday December 29th!  She and one of my grandmother's sisters, Nina, are the only cousins of this generation that are still living.  Nina is 95, my grandmother lived to 93, and Eloise's sister, Annie Laurie lived into her 90s as well.   Eloise is hard of hearing, but other than that she is in excellent shape.  She lives in her own home and until a few years ago she was still driving ... 07/22/2009
