Gulf Shores, AL Real Estate News

Laguna Key is an upscale community at the end of West Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores, Alabama, alive with the sound of grounding waves on our pristine gulf beaches and  secluded by high sand dunes and the stillness of the  Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge on Little Lagoon. Laguna Key saw only a few closed sales in 2010 and distressed properties are a reality even in this luxury gated community in Gulf Shores, AL.  I anticipate that Laguna Key will bounce back strong as the economy and our local real estate market conditions improve.  Yet, Laguna Key, like much of the high-end real estate in Gulf Shores, has a long road to a full recovery.   Search Laguna Key Real Estate for Sale in Gulf Shores, AL   Take a Laguna Key Video Tour, Gulf Shores, AL

The Associated Press • July 15, 2010 NEW ORLEANS — A tightly fitted cap was successfully keeping oil from gushing into the Gulf of Mexico for the first time in three months, BP said Thursday. The victory — long awaited by weary residents along the coast — is the most significant milestone yet in BP's effort to control one of the worst environmental disasters in U.S. history. Kent Wells, a BP PLC vice president, said at a news briefing that oil stopped flowing into the water at 2:25 p.m. CDT after engineers gradually dialed down the amount of crude escaping through the last of three valves in the 75-ton cap. "I am very pleased that there's no oil going into the Gulf of Mexico. In fact, I'm really excited there's no oil going into the Gulf of Mexico," Wells said. The stoppage came 85 days...

In Gulf Shores AL Foreclosures are the hottest properties on the market right now. Along the beautiful beaches of Gulf Shores AL., are hundreds of skyline condominiums. The real estate market has taken a turn, and is now flooded with foreclosures. Now is the time to buy! but with foreclosures the buying process is different. The foreclosure properties are bank owned, and they request that every offer be accompanied by a letter of credit from your lender, and if your lucky enough to be paying cash, the bank still wants a proof of funds letter showing the funds. Foreclosures properties in gulf shores are sold AS-IS, the banks will not do any repairs. There are new foreclosure properties listed daily, so REGISTER on my website to receive daily listings  or contact your  real estate profess...

With the great success of The Hangout Beach, Music and Arts Festival, it looks like the festival will become an annual event. There will be more upcoming Gulf Shores Events that I am sure you would love to attend. I am an expert in getting great rates for lodging, so feel free to contact me at Contact Lance Steffek at (251) 981-2225 for assistance. Hangout owner Shaul Zislin paid for the festival’s multimillion-dollar bill, and it appears to be likely he will do it again next year.    It has been estimated that about 40,000 people attended the festival.   Zislin went all out to make sure the event was a success with his spare-no-expense approach to the festival. When Jakob Dylan, one of the major performers, ran into flight problems, Zislin offered to send his own plane.   At the beginn...

Baldwin County was anticipating the 2010 tourist season to be one of the very best on record with an 8 percent increase in tourism until the Deepwater Horizon oil spill took place. But Baldwin County is winning the fight against the oil spill. Safeguards have been taken to help ensure 2010 to be a productive year by letting visitors know that the beaches are still safe, clean and attractive. This will be done by Baldwin County getting the message out that all visitors will be guaranteed an event-free, leisurely vacation. There will be two television commercials that will air showing that the local beaches in the area are as desirable as ever. In addition, print advertisements will also start circulating to help the cause. The sky is still a beautiful blue, the beaches are still white, t...

News of the catastrophic explosion that caused an oil spill from a BP offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico has been a hot topic in the Orange Beach/ Gulf Shore area this week.  Fears are high the oil will reach the shoreline.  The leak is currently releasing 5,000 barrels of oil per day. This oil spill is looking like it may be the worst oil spill in history, even more so than the Exxon Valdez tanker that spilled 11 million gallons of oil into Prince William Sound in 1989. The most unfortunate part is that BP's rig is tapped into an underwater oil well and could pump more oil into the ocean until the leak is plugged. Fortunately, no oil has reached the beaches of Orange Beach or Gulf Shores, according to the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric  Administration), which  is m...

Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is home to more than 290 animals that have many tall tales to tell us all.  The majority of the residents of the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo were either rescued from the possibility of extinction or they have completed a long journey from an exotic locale and now call the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo home. During Hurricanes Ivan, Dennis, and Katrina, all animal residents needed to be evacuated from the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.  This was never done by a zoo before in the United States. With all of the attention from local and national media, Animal Planet produced a 13-part television series Animal Planet entitled "The Little Zoo that Could that profiled the amazing things that happen at Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo." The zoo is located in a low-lying area just a mile from the Gul...
