The Miller neighbourhood in northeast Edmonton has had a really strong 4th quarter of 2011.  Normally, Miller tends to follow closely to the Edmonton average selling price per square foot.  It will be interesting to see if this higher than normal average sale price per square foot can be maintained in Miller in 2012.  For more details including price graphs visit: Miller Edmonton Real Estate

New Design Shapes Straight From the Las Vegas Market! While in Las Vegas for the RESA conference, we were able to sneak away to view the new design trends at the Las Vegas Design Market. On day two we had the opportunity to meet Genevieve Gorder. HGTV's star of Dear Genevieve was introducing her new line of area rugs, hand woven in India, featuring the exotic eastern Quatrefoil motif. There were other accessories with this design in other shops as well! Another design shape that is big this year is 3D! Movies aren't the only way you can get your 3D fix. Art and accessories are full of 3D now too! Circles are big this year, I wrote about circles in my last post about design trends. Texture is huge this year! Nothing was smooth, everything had some new texture, whether it was throws that l...

A Cat's Life! Our cats have it made! They have lovely places to sleep, a clear deck in the winter so their toes don't get cold. Warm laps, (or shoulders) and have trained my husband and me to turn on the tap in the bath room when they're thirsty. Here is Minnie; our lady cat, doing double duty, a wash and a drink. She must be a girl; she's multi-tasking!

5 New Trends For 2012! Straight From the Las Vegas Design Market! Even though the Vegas Market was overwhelming at times with it's sheer volume of beautiful decor ideas, I did spot a few trends that will influence some of my Property Styling this year. The new colours; Tangerine and iced teal are huge! They're in every thing from glassware to art and accessories! I even wore it one day! Didn't know when I packed it was one of the new hot colours, I must be psycho psychic!                                 Horses! They're everywhere! Art, accessories, even lamps! Priscilla Presley's store had full sized horse lamps, in various colours and textures, with the shade over the head. They wouldn't let us take pix, but you know it isn't going to be a common item in most homes...                 ...

Back From Vegas and Ready to Roll! I just spent 5 days in Las Vegas at the RESA 2012 Conference and the Las Vegas Design Market! Wow what a time! I learned so much and met so many wonderful people, I'm still in awe! We met David Bromstad one day and Genevieve Gorder on another! The Real Estate Staging Association Conference was held at Treasure Island Hotel with many wonderful guest speakers and over 300 folks willing to share their experiences and expertise with everyone else that were in attendance! I ran out of paper I took so many notes! The LV World Market Center is 3 buildings and a total of 42 floors worth of design and decorating awesomeness! Totally overwhelming; with an incredible selection of art, accessories, furniture and design elements. What impressed me most was the amou...

The Holyrood Edmonton real estate average sale price per square foot has dipped a little in the last quarter of 2011.  However, Holyrood is another of those popular areas that sees a strong $300 plus per square foot number and I expect to see the selling price per square foot continue to climb in this area.  I expect the revitalization of the nearby Bonnie Doon Mall when the Target retail store is up and running in the next couple years as well.  For more detailed real estate market information on Holyrood visit: Holyrood Edmonton Real Estate
