In 2009 13 homes on the Chestermere Lake traded throught the MLS system  on the lake.  We (Marjorie and Doug McKay) represented 6 out of 13 sellers, and 7 out of 13 buyers. So 50% of the homes sold on Chestermere had us representing them.  Buyer's and seller's alike trust us with their lakefront home sale or purchase because we know this market.  We have lived on the lake for 18 years, we have been selling lake front homes for 17 years.  We know lake front.  In our careers in real estate we have sold over 100 lakefront home.  No one else can make a claim even close to this. Stonemere Condos in Westmere Built between 2002 and 2003 Stonemere were the first townhouse condos in Chestermere. They addressed a need for young families wanting to take advantage of the elementary schools in Westmere. The units run between 1200 and 1276 sq. ft. They have on street parking or a single attached garage. They are close to the two schools in Westmere, which are Saint Gabriel the Archangel, which is a Kindergarten to Grade 12. and Prairie Waters which is Kindergarten to Grade 4. In 2009 13 properties sold in Stonemere. The high sale price was $264.000 which sold in November . This unit had a single car attached garage and was 1274 sq. ft. We recently wrote an offer on a home in Chestermere with a subject to a satisfactory home inspection condition.  As this home had changed hands a few times we wanted to be sure that there was no evidence of mold in the home.  To best do this an inspection of the attic is required.  Most home inspectors will pop the attic lid, but few of them will actually go up and take a look. Because we had viewed rust on the vacuum canister, and the basement floor had been painted I had some concerns as to this history of this home.  There was also some evidence that there had been high humidity on the tag of the hot water tank, and condensation from the fresh air intake on the furnace.  The furnace room had had drywall over top of the vapor barrier, which is unusual in a home where it is just a furn...

  Chestermere neighbours Gary Dagg and Gills Mallett (and their families) are hosting a haunted inn in a garage at 113 West creek Blvd.  The NIghtmare Inn will be open on October 10 from 7 to 10 pm and on October 31 from 6 to 10 pm.  It is set up like a maze that will take about 10 minutes to walk through.  It is designed to be scary so the little ones may enjoy the events at the community centre more.  Last year they had about 400 visitors.  The tour is free but please bring a donation for the Chestermere food bank.  This is just another great example of the community spirit that makes living in Chestermere so special.

The Chestermere Lions Club will be holding it's 3rd Pumpkin Patch right by Chestermere at the Mountain View Cemetary.  There will be hot dogs, soft drinks and snack served.  There will be entertainment with a puppet show, a storey corner, family pictures and pumpkin carving.  A fun time for the entire family while you pick your pumpkin for just $10.  This event runs from 10 am to 3 pm.  On Saturday October 24th.
