Now that I've got your attention...Depending on your viewpoint, blogging might be a totally optional activity, or a sign of the Apocalypse if you DON'T make a post, or somewhere in between. How much blogging is enough? How much is too much? How much is just right? It's a question for Goldilocks. The answer to that question is going to be determined by what fits your willingness and the needs of your target audience.Blogging daily (or slightly less often) might be the thing for you, especially if you're trying to address more than one blogging audience.  A few posts to audience 1, a few to audience 2, and whatever else you have the time and motivation for adds to your collection.  Some posts consumer facing, others to remind this community that you're still out there and happy to have a refer...

We just recently declined to list a property in PG County, MD. After weeks of communication, advising on to-dos to get the house ready for the market, explaining the documents needed, and watching and analyzing comps, the customer informed us that he doesn't want us to stage the house or hire a professional photographer. Cell phone pictures would be enough. No, sir, we disagree. At Thompson Company, we do not have a smorgas board of services to pick from. We are a full-service real estate brokerage, one that has weathered many economic and otherwise tsunamis in its almost 80 years in the industry.Recently, I wrote a post about the combined knowledge and expertise we bring to the table. We know what it takes to really make a property shine, stand out from the competition and attract (all...

By Scott Garrison, Top ORLANDO AREA Realtor…this Realtor WORKS!
(Re/Max Town & Country Realty)
Buyers in the Orlando area who put off purchasing a house in Central Florida until a larger selection of homes reduced borrowing rates or some other factor may never become homeowners. And considering Orlando's past, 2023 is a reasonably good year to decide. Mortgage rates have finally begun to decline across the whole state of Florida, and rates in the region of 5.6% for a 30-year fixed mortgage have recently been increasingly prevalent. After two years of house sellers calling the shots, the great American purchaser finally has power due to dropping home prices and increasing residential real estate inventory. Alex Caras, a mortgage broker with Magellan Realty LLC, predicts that 2023 will be a better year for purchasers. According to the Federal Reserve, "as far as it retains the pres...

Pets and children like to show their parents (or masters) things they think are cool. Remember the first time your child had to show you that they actually used the big toilet for the first time?As Realtors we have all seen some pretty cool things in our listings. One item I have seen three times in homes I've listed were hidden rooms. Two were behind bookcases like the one pictured below that I found on Realtor.com and one was in a Wall type of closet where you had to pull out a drawer and then crawl in.The crawl in one was pretty awkward but actually had the biggest space behind it. That being said they had to have put the furniture in the room prior to building the closet that hid it. I just remembered one more, a manufactured home where the laundry room was cleverly hidden behind a ...
