Good morning!!I woke this morning with love for my son….My son, who we named Auggie, will be seven months old at the end of this month…He is soft and warm, with chubby cheeks. He is full of curiosity and joy…A gift to me and those around him…His smile lights up the room. He is the best snuggler, and will bury his head into my chest as I hold him as I walk, or rock him gently back and forth to sleep…He, as most babies do, looks at the world differently than the rest of us do….He is innocent. Optimistic. Hopeful. And so lovingly simple…He has joy for the littlest things. A new box with which to sit in. A kiss on the cheek. A caress of his back…Again, my son is a baby like many others…But he is also different…You see, my son Auggie, was born special…Born under chaotic circumstances that we...

We live in a world where instant gratification is the norm. It's what we've all grown to expect.  And in many cases, to outright demand.  It is simply the shape of the world we live in today. Much research has been done on the power of delaying gratification. The results reveal that delayed gratification is one of the most influential personal traits among successful people. "Don't Eat The Marshmallow" Experiment In a study several years ago, young children were placed in a room.  Each was given a plate with a single marshmallow.  The children were given simple instructions.  If they waited for fifteen minutes and did not eat the marshmallow, they would be given a second one!  The results?  Two out of three children ate the marshmallow.  The majority could not wait the full fifteen min...

My dad grew up in the South. Near Meridian Mississippi. Because of him, even though I grew up in San Diego, when I get tired or sick, I speak with a Southern accent. My grandma would cook me rabbit for lunch (which she killed that morning) and serve it with sweet tea. I learned that RC Cola and a Moon Pie is an acceptable meal. And y’all is a term you hear from people that care about you. But for those that aren’t aware of what it is like to be Southern, take a gander (take a look) at some of these:

Hurry Hurry Hurry The best deals are here. Oh my it is over I am so relieved . Did you ever have a closing with an agent that just made everything harder than it had to be . They felt they could boss you and order you around and for some strange reason there was disrespect . A complete lack of cooperation . Thanksgiving Day is almost here I am so Thankful ! I really earned my commission on this one .  asked what are we thankful for I started to write about shopping.  This is the perfect time of the year to do so . Plus, you see I was moving and had so much going on I fell out of the habit of blogging and that is not good . So I am very thankful for this time to write this post and I hope you are having fun reading it . We need not be so serious al the time .  Sometimes we need to have s...

Thankful for Special Friends A long call tonight with a dear friend we have known and been close to for 27 years inspired this thankful post. We all have people in our lives that we consider friends…some more casual relationships than others but they are all important in our lives in a variety of ways nonetheless . But some friendships seem to be special in particular. It’s not necessarily the length of time, although some very special friendships have lasted for decades. My wife has a very dear friend she’s known since 3rd grade! We have close friends we met when our daughters were starting preschool (well over 30 years ago) when we all worked in the corporate world. The list goes on, but it’s not actually a long one, and that’s what makes those on the list so very special  in our live...

Janet D at Acuity Insurance reports, "Whether you are hosting a party, doing the cooking, or making a dish to pass, the kitchen is at the heart of every Thanksgiving. Follow these five tips to help make your Thanksgiving safe for everyone, in and out of the kitchen. Prepare the turkey safely – The star of any Thanksgiving dinner is the turkey. Kitchen renovations seem to get all of the glory, but a refresh of the room where you spend the most time devoted to personal care can have a majorly positive effect on your day-to-day life. That also makes it expensive: According to, the average national cost for a bathroom renovation ranges from $4,500 to $9,000. That said, it doesn’t take a master plumber’s license to make small changes that can have a major impact. Here are a few upgrades that can spruce up your space with minimal headache. Get a new shower curtain A sophisticated shower curtain sets the tone for the whole room.(Society 6)The absolute easiest fix can actually be a game changer in such a small space. Thanksgiving Challenge Post 2 - by Debe Maxwell, CRS  135 Red Rock Cove Drive, Sedona AZ 86351SOLD for FULL PRICE!CLOSING UPDATEThis listing was my third transaction with Joan Andrew.  She is an artist and is well known for her bronzes as well as her paintings.  But in her early career, she was a sketch artist for CNN.  In fact, she was THE sketch artist for the John Hinkley trial.  I see many of my clients who live in Sedona on a regular basis.  We go to lunch and it is never dull.  Joan is another Thanksgiving blessing.  This was a very special listing.  Joan moved into an assisted-living facility recently.  I felt that it was my personal responsibility to make her move as easy as possible.  Joan has downsized from a very large home with an artist studio and a kiln on the property to ...

In this episode of Two Minutes on Tuesday we explore two underserved segments of the Knox County Ohio housing market.  Currently there is an extreme shortage of fixer-upper homes for sale in Knox County Ohio and the surrounding communities. Contractors and builders are seriously looking for homes that they can rehab over the winter because most contractors want to work indoors instead of working outside during the cold winter months.  Let us know by calling us at 740-397-7800 if you have a house sitting vacant that needs some fixing up because it is very likely that we are working with a contractor who would love to buy it as their winter project. Are you a landlord who has a home that is sitting vacant and you are thinking of renting it?  If so, you may want to rethink that idea because...
