David Popoff I am doing one on Saturday, I forgot that it was Memorial Day Weekend. I hope to get a few souls to come out.

If my seller insisted I do one, yes, I'd do one. That being said, a lot of people start their summer with traveling or other plans, so I wouldn't expect a big crowd.

 Early in my career, I did Opens on holidays.  Memorial Day, 4th of July weekend, all of them.

  Lots of lookers,  but the ROI was zilch.  I never closed a sale nor picked up a client or customer from one of those Opens.     

   So my answer is "No, thank you".

I am not a big fan of open houses in general, but for your question, I think it would be a really good idea.  When people don't have to work, they are more apt to visit an open house, so I think you would get more traffic.

A Very Firm "Maybe"  There are different thoughts about open houses so it all depends on your schedule.  If it is in your wheel house. go for it.  Try something different and lets us know after the fact if you enjoyed the weekend activity.  

As one who was never in favor of holding open houses, I would not. That said I have had friends who have done so successfully. If you are an "open house" fan, do it and if you are an "open house" pessimist, do not.

I think only the most serious buyers are out looking at open houses on holiday weekends. So yes, I would do an open house, and I would say it's a good idea. 

While Open Houses are an effective tool for selling in NYC- way too many leave town for the holiday- so I won't be holding an open house.

That's a BIG old "maybe" in my book David Popoff but most likely NO for me personally. Memorial Day is almost always a family vacation today and family trumps money every time in my book.

It depends on the property (especially the location) I believe.  I think most people have a mindset for a holiday rather than shopping for a home.  I only avoid 3 days-  Mothers' Day, Xmas, and Super Bowl Sunday.

Funny you should ask! I had a seller ask to host one tomorrow. They researched it on AI, who told them that Memorial Day is THE biggest day of the year to sell a house. I ran my own research, thinking they may be right and sure enough...

Not here in America's Finest City. I don't host Open Houses anyway, but my team members do for me. Tracking San Diego for 23 years, Memorial Day / July 4th / Labor Day weekends, dead, dead, dead for real estate here. I take those weekends off completely the last 16 years. An open house is always a good idea.

Opens are not my thing, but I did have someone ask to hold one of my listings open this weekend, but we're in escrow now.  If I were to do one, a holiday weekend would NOT be my first choice.

I am doing an open house on Satureday. One of my Team mates who happens to be the listing agent is holding that house open on Sunday.  I don't this there is a plan to hold it open on Memorial Day, Monday. 

If a buyer is serious, they should not be spending money on a vacation trip when they need that money to buy their new home. So, not everyone will be out of town this coming weekend.

To be perfectly honest, I would not do an Open House on a Holiday "unless" my seller requested it.  My history in real estate -- at least in my area -- open houses are not well attended so it's not a priority for me.  But I wish you the BEST on all three! 3 is a CHARM right?

In our area, not always. First, this coming weekend is not promising as far as good weather. In general, our area is a popular summer/weekend vacation destination, so we might get a lot of "tourists", tire-kickers, but you never know...

I never held open houses on Holiday weekends.  Even the showings are down or non-existent, with many leaving town.

To me it depends on which point in my career.  My first three years nothing was more important then getting a sale.  The fourth year I began to be more of a veteran and could enjoy the luxury of choice.

All depends on whether or not your pricing is good - if you have very assertive pricing (as in good value) then yes, but if your pricing is high, then I wouldn't bother.
