I do door dash MAYBE 3 times a year.  Usually when I'm too spent to go grab something and I don't have anything pre-cooked.  It's the food equivalent of 911 for me.

We have gotten groceries delivered from Costco. It has worked well. We have never had meals delivered except for pizza.

Groceries delivered? Door Dash? Oh no, not me. I still march proudly into the fluorescent-lit battlefield known as the supermarket, armed with a cart that squeaks like a haunted tricycle and the noble mission of hand-selecting my own veggies and meat. Door Dash may be breaking records, but I refuse to let a stranger decide if my avocado is “ripe” or just “a green hockey puck.”

Warm food? Yes please. Delivered groceries? Hard pass. I don’t trust anyone else to judge the moral character of a tomato. Besides, I like the thrill of dodging rogue toddlers in the cereal aisle and the adrenaline rush of finding the one checkout line where the cashier moves at the speed of a continental drift.

 

And let’s not forget the senior citizens who transform the aisles into philosophical salons—carts parked like barricades while they hover over every can of soup, weighing the eternal question: Is 10 cents off worth it if the sodium is higher? I salute their dedication, even as I plot escape routes through the frozen foods section.

 

So while Door Dash is out there delivering more meals than ever, I remain a proud holdout—no groceries delivered by Door Dash or any other service. I’ll keep picking out my own produce like a gladiator in the coliseum of kale, even if it means waiting behind a cart blockade while someone debates the metaphysical value of store-brand beans.

Not in my Wheelhouse.  I (yes) enjoy my regular visits to the store.  I do the cooking in this house and that is one of my past times, developing over the years.  

Ill pick up something to go rather than have something delivered.

My son and his wife live on delivered food, both prepared and groceries. The wife and I have never done so. Based on the number of pickers clogging the aisles at the grocery store we are in the minority.

I have never used Door Dash and probably never will after reading so many horror stories about their service (or lack of). I like to make our pizza at home but usually have 1-2 frozen pizzas on hand for days I don't want to cook.

 

I started using grocery delivery during the pandemic and it worked well so still use it. We still shop in person for meat and produce and bakery items but things like canned goods, frozen foods, etc are delivered. (Kroger delivers in refrigerated trucks so no worries about food not being kept cold or frozen).

Joan Cox - No. I do not have groceries delivered to my door. I have not and will not use Door Dash or any other food delivery service. If there was an emergency, and that was the only way, I may consider it. Otherwise. no.

No. I buy my own groceries and do not order food delivery.

Although, when I broke my ankle in 2011 I did get grocery deliveries and it was a huge help!

Real estate agents... right after the three locations chant, it's circulate. You update buyers and sellers there and get asked "how's the local real estate market?"

Love to go to the grocery store, farmer's market and to pick up food to go. Don't do delivery. Also trot in and don't stay in the long line of cars wasting time waiting for coffee. Have a local Tim Hortens that is a treat once in a while.

Joan Cox I get nothing like that delivered, except for my dog and cat food from Chewy... as those are heavy items. In New York City, I would shop on my way home and then whatever I purchased would be delivered.
