As you may know, I’m into biohacking. Cutting back on bread and added sugar can reduce inflammation, which may help with focus and memory. And the regular staff: enough healthy protein + omega-3s, veggies/fiber and enough sleep:) Get better!

Bob "RealMan" Timm - No. Never. Most likely never will depend on anything manufactured to improve my memory. I love to go to school as a life-long learner. I enjoy playing scrabble and crossword puzzles, reading, and writing. If I was concerned, I would discuss it with my physician. But the truth is, even when I get a prescription, I don't take it, unless I'm in a lot of pain. When given a RX, I always ask where it came from. In the last several years, I was surprised how many came from foreign countries! I refuse anything not made in the USA.

I wish you good health.

NO to your question. However, Bob, be aware that as you age gracefully, you only need to know what's relevant or pertinent regarding your life & surroundings. THINK: Caterpillar where toward the end of its life cycle (?), it has a hearty meal, enjoys where it is at, spends time in its little cocoon, accepts the call of a nap, all preparing it for what is to come: butterfly! Relax & enjoy the process Bob "RealMan" Timm

Oh, memory supplements? I don’t take them—mostly because I’d forget to take them in the first place. They say the second thing that goes is the mind… though I can’t for the life of me remember what the first thing was.

Honestly, half the bottles sound like they were named by wizards: “Ginkgo Biloba,” “Lion’s Mane,” “Omega-3.” I mean, are we improving memory or summoning a dragon? If these pills really worked, I’d be able to recall where I left my keys, the plot of season two of Lost, and why I walked into the kitchen in the first place.

Until then, I’ll stick with my current regimen: forgetting birthdays, misplacing sunglasses, and pretending it’s all part of my charm.

Bob "RealMan" Timm I have seen the memory improvement supplements but I am not sure if is necessary. Staying active, reading etc. keeps the mind muscles working. When we were looking for an independent housing for my mother in law, they asked if we wanted to include memory care. I ask them to show me what they did. Basically it was a computer showing personal photos for her to remember. We opted out and just gave her the many albums she had collected over the years. She looked at none of them, lol

Bob "RealMan" Timm I don't like over-the-counter meds> I feel blogging helps with memory loss; it keeps me thinking.

I have not taken any memory supplements. Try to keep my mind and body active.  I will say I think it helps NOT to Google things I don't recall off the top of my head, it may take a minute or two but the rolodex in my mind usually finds what I'm looking for 🤔

I'm with Hannah Williams on this one. Exercise, kayaking, skiing, walking woods trails and hiking biking AND eating healthy AND counting your blessings helps with "stinkin' thinkin'" Bob "RealMan" Timm.

You say you are on a dozen prescriptions, a half dozen supplements. I'm no doctor and don't play one on TV. And no, I won't give tax advice that your CPA should be providing not me.

But... (raking in all the brown pill containers like a Vegas poker chip win) round up all your medications, the over-the-counter drugs. Trot them in to a doctor you trust with solid reviews, plenty of experience for a comprehensive review.

You don't need another pill, potion or puffer and your current RX cocktail may just need a serious adjustment. Maybe retirement is for the birds, you just need to feel more purpose. Volunteering, helping others energizes and benefits not just you but the community around you.

feeling happy being active productive

No, but I take a B complex with with my other vitamins since I don't eat a lot of meat. Before taking any supplements, I consult Dr. Google. Search "memory supplements" and "B complex"  without the quotes for some good information. I think keeping your mind and brain active are most important so prefer to go that route.

I've lost my mother to Alshemeris.  The one thing she refused to do was drink water.  I think water might be a secret ingredient.
