We still have them.  But my house isn't on the market.  We'd put them in the pantry if it were.  Or move first.

I certainly do remember canisters and I liked them Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate . The only relic we still have is a bread box... and myself 😉.

I have not seen canisters in listings for maybe ever - in my 23 years in the business. Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate

I do remember them. Maybe they are not used as much because people cook less?

I use ball jars to store nuts, raisons, cranberries, and more.

Not in listings unless staged - stagers use them.
I use them for all my pastas. We use 6 tall glass jars that display and hold all our different types of pastas. I have had them since 1987 - I remembering buying them at The Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo for all you Bay Area folks.

Oh I remember those matching tupperware canisters... I keep my flour in a glass canister in the closet - that's about it!

I haven't seen them Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate ...but I know that people use sealable bags, Tupperware, sealed canisters to protects foods probably in their pantry. Fred, remember the bread cabinet that sat on the counter & held wonder bread etc.?

Haven't seen them in decades other than my own kitchen, tucked away in a circular cabinet near the stove.

I always wondered how cannisters fared in humid climates. Decorator cannisters are usually not air tight.

I don't see them on counters that often.  In pantries yes, counter tops no.  I think most people like the clean counter look.

Most kitchens are too full of appliances to allow room for canisters.

Decorative canisters are not in style. They may be stored away out of sight or the contents that could have been stored in a canister are simply in their original containers out of sight.

I don't see them in my own kitchen. Cannisters are in the pantry. But I am about to list a property where the seller placed some lovely canisters on the counter. They were, however, empty.

Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate I do have one for my coffee, since I drink it everyday, it makes it very convenient.  Coffee makers seem to be the most popular item in most kitchens.

We do have canisters next to our coffee maker. There are three, one for Splenda and one each for two different types of tea. As for coffee, sugar and flour, they are in a cabinet.

Hi Fred- I don't remember the last time I saw a canister.  My flour, etc are stored in my pantry in airtight containers.   I have my Jura coffee maker that takes up a lot of room and my air fryer is in a corner of the counter.

I think stuff like that, whether labeled or not, is generally relegated to pantries, if space allows; do not see them much on counters. The "clean" look is preferred, if possible.

Groovy! Not me though. I have enough practical stuff on my counters to begin with . . . those things are in the pantry until needed.

Yes, we remember those classic Flour, Sugar, Coffee, and Tea canister sets — they were a staple in almost every kitchen and added both charm and function to the space. That vintage-meets-modern appeal is making a big comeback in kitchen decor today.

Yes they add to the decor of the kitchen but they need to be uniform and beautiful.
