Not with Tallahassee Board of Realtors / TBR.
All Agents of the Board must be under a Broker who is a Member.
I should add, when I as a Broker am a member of TBR, every Agent in my office must also be a member of TBR.
And, TBR monitors the Florida Department of Professional Regulation, Division of Real Estate for licensees. They WILL contact any Broker who violates that policy, and demand that their Agents "sign up" immediately.

In NC & SC, that is not allowed unless the agent broker who wants to join is a Broker-in-Charge. As a BIC, you can pay the fees and join. I know a lot of agents who do this - especially in the coastal areas.

*YES. I used to belong to The San Mateo and San Diego Boards simultaneously from 2003-2005 due to my move and still wrapping up sales in The Bay Area while establishing myself in San Diego.
*But, there were specific compliance stipulations which we met and is why I was able to do so, having to do with my broker being a national brand (GMAC) vs. a local boutique. There was a loophole - but that was 0ver 20 years ago, I forget what we did to pull it off...sorry.
That was also pre-8-17-2024 😁

AS a former managing broker in Florida Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate provided the correct answer.
When active in Illinois, the same was true. Not positive about current policy.

In North Dakota I do not believe that agents have to follow the Broker either way Richard Alan Naggar BUT I have been retired long enough that I can not answer this with any authority.

You need to be a broker or have your license held by a broker to join the real estate board.

I would suggest moving to another brokerage if your broker is not a member.

Not in Colorado. If the broker isn't a member, the associate broker cannot belong to a Board.

In Colorado, the broker has to be a member for his agents under him to be a member

nope, it can not. Agents can however be a member of a different board as long as their broker is a member of NAR through any board.

In California, the Broker would have to join. Agents must be attached to an office and only a Broker can create that office.
