That is ridiculous. Next will be an update to the Civil Rights act to ensure people are not discriminated against and/or steered because of their political leanings. Interestingly enough, in Montana, we do not pick a political party when registering to vote. We just register to vote, period.

First, it is human nature to want to be with "your own kind of people".

 

Second, is a website like this really necessary?   

 

The politics of most cities, towns, or neighborhoods is apparent. 

 

  We shop in Brevard North Carolina.   Every yard has a yard sign, and guess who those yard signs were pushing for President?  Hint:  it wasn't Donald Trump.

 

Or my principal residence in Tallahassee, Florida.  The primary employer is the State Government; the largest industries are Universities.  You know before you entered the town that it will be Democrats, Liberals, Leftists.

On the converse, take my vacation residence in South Carolina.  Every other pickup truck has a Confederate flag license plate, and a MAGA bumper sticker.

 I could cite other examples, including Orlando Florida (rainbow flags are flying on every other house), or Palm Beach, or Gainesville (another University town).

 It is not that hard to pick up on the political leanings of a town or city!

Similar stuff has been around. I have seen buyers looking up neighborhood voting preferences. Info can be found. It's just another way of searching for a home, I guess.

I have not, but don’t really care about it. The way I see it, people overshare already, with social media posts, bumper stickers, clothing, etc, so I do not see much difference. Then there are the yard signs…so what’s the difference of a preferential buyer checking online, or driving through a neighborhood; they are going to know one way or the other.

I hope they didn't bet the bank on this new technology. I wouldn't encourage anyone to use it. Just because someone is registered for a particular party doesn't mean that's how they vote every single time. And, we all need to learn to get along. Our difference can make us better people.

I think a Realtor  should be color blind.  The profession is based upon being a Fiduciary and serving the best needs of the people being served.  Finding the house, community and neighborhood that the clients want to see and bring in professional knowledge has nothing to do with political beliefs, religion, sexual preferance, age, sex or other prejudicial beliefs.

You can tell in lots of ways how your buyer, seller is going to vote when the curtain is pulled tight behind them in the booth. Hope the country can step back slowly from everything being made political. That split down the middle hurts the country and wouldn't it be nice if 80% of us were on the same page and the other 20% kept it interesting and broadened the center Buzz. What is Buzz short for?
