     Pray that the storm blows itself out over the Gulf of Mexico.   That is rare, but it can happen.

    Pray for the safety of the people, and also pray for their comfort.  Before a storm hits, they start shutting down the electric grid.  That can be a major nuisance if you haven't left your home yet.

     Gas stations run out of gasoline, the groceries store run out of food, and the hotels and motels are booked up way far inland.  For those poor souls who failed to prepare, life can be miserable for the next few days.
