Nope.  Those who don't answer their phone now, will not do so post 8/17 either.  Plus, it's not the listing agent's job to ask if the buyer's agent has a bra signed or not.  I don't care, doesn't impact me any if you do or not.  You just won't get paid.

Absolutely not. I’m not just unafraid; I’m genuinely excited about the future beyond 8/17/24. Exceptional agents thrive on challenges, and the best among us are always prepared for what’s next. Certainly, the bottom 80% might feel apprehensive, but it's not just about the superficial phone tactics you mentioned. Their concern stems from the fact that they’ll need to elevate their game to meet a new standard of professionalism—one they haven’t had to engage with before. The bar is being raised, and those who are truly great will rise to the occasion...and join those of us that have always operated there! 😎😉

Home again, home again...

I think today's agent is afraid that they will continue to get fearful questions about the settlement for the remainder of the time leading up to August 17th (and beyond)!

No. However, we do have a surplus of several hundred thousand agents who should consider career alternatives.

There is a type of Real Estate agent that thinks & acts like all they needed was a license & they are all set! Knowing how to wield it is what they avoid as their eyes are on the $$$. Not only that, but the "love" is missing. Today, some effort, savvy & more fiduciary is required. Step-up or step-down

I think they're more afraid of our correcting market. We've been through a couple of these cycles. Some more than that. We'll still be around and handling it. The good time agents will be back in a few years when the market changes again.

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

If you've been doing what you're supposed to be doing all along, you'll be fine. The only headache is getting agents to answer their phones to share whether or not their seller is willing to compensate the buyer so they can pay us...or if the LA has already made arrangements to pay the BA. THAT, to me, is going to be my only real challenge!

Nothing to be afraid of. But some agents will wait until last minute and learn the hard way. I bet most buyer agents will not send listing agents a copy of their BBA. I have heard that some title companies are asking for it, I assume to make sure commission payout amounts are accurate.

For aware, capable agents there should not be much of a change, especially for those used to working with buyer agency agreements.

Afraid, yes for the unprepared! No, for the professional. Maybe, just maybe the new rules will open the lines of communication between agents which may increase cooperation and thus help the industry move forward.

I think you are right Shayne Stone and good question. Change brought on because of litigation and a deadline to implement. The big day is coming.

Buyer agents especially and listing agents too re-tool and adjust. All of us consider what other changes are ahead. That's real estate and ethics,  protect your license all combined. But local Realtor associations around the country are working overtime with the training to be compliant.

Utah agents already used the Buyer Broker Agreement, so fewer changes to implement and am not afraid. I say...BRING IT ON!

I would say but then again new agents better be discussing this with their brokers of how to handle this suggest with their clients.

I think we all adjust to changing terms and conditions and in the long run it will soon become business as usual.  Newer agents will not know a difference as they learn the new way from the start of their career.
