Debe - Kathy Streib sent me a text message last night but I didn't see it until this morning.  There is something to be said for rest and relaxation.  And for putting down the cell phone too. 

 

That said, there has been a lot of rain.  And Californians have all sorts of reactions when a bit of precipitation makes its presence known.  Despite thoughts to the contrary, we are not all the same.

All OK in my area. Lots of rain but winds weren't too bad. There are reports of trees down, flooding, mudslides, etc. but the worst of the storm seemed to track further to the north and east of where I live where the damage is more significant. I haven't ventured out yet.

I'm in San Fernando Valley, we had a lot of rain and almost no wind. Now, just few hours after the rain next day, all water from the streets evaporated and only broken trees remind about yesterday heavy rain and another EQ shake. Palm Springs and Riverside had more rain and wind.

Inland/Desert areas got some flooding and I saw a few landslides, I think most of the state ended up being spared any major damage.  Just a  drizzle and slight breeze here in the Sacramento area.

It was a non-event here.  The rains at the start of the year were far worse.  The areas that were hit the hardest are because of the terrain.  Places like Cathedral City are in the middle of the desert, so of course places like that are going to flood.  Dodger stadium was interesting though.

It did not even hit the news here this am.  so glad it was a non event for most.  Storms can be dangerous but the media might tend to make it seem alot worse.
