I used to work for a large bank company. We had a debt collection department that did "skip tracing' when needed to locate debtors who were not paying their obligations.

These days, with all the big aggregated data, there are so many other ways to get almost immediate information on the location of people.

Media monitoring. There was a clipping service in my county that had an awful lot of workers that worked on media. Skip tracing like gleaning the net.

Always wondered with how easy the Internet helps provide clues and answers how they are doing... even if they beefed up the digital scanning with their newsprint and other ways of providing indepth information Peter Mohylsky . Burrell's the name of outfit gone in my town and another north of me.

HA! As a matter of fact . . . my attorney is needing to skip trace someone to serve them for me. LOL
Yes, skip tracing is for fly by night tenants usually, or like my situation a party we tried to find using 'normal means' and the Certifieds keep coming back.
