It "should" work the same from any device.
Some time ago, the Dev Team removed many of the photos in the file manager. The removed photos remained in the blog posts.
That could be what the issue is.

maybe it's the source and you are in a certain folder of photos on the ipad and not ALL your photos. I have had that issue on my phone where I was in my "favorites" and not my recent.
