Twitter's engineers were upset that their 5 hour work weeks had to go back to 40 hours (I kid you not).  As Fred Griffin Florida Real Estate has said, it was not too dissimilar from when Ben took over Active Rain.  System was in disarray held together with chewing gum and (of course) duct tape.  Only difference is, when Ben bought AR from Trulia all the destruction was done ahead of time.  With Twitter, it's being done as people leave and by bad actors left in the company.

He's taking a company that was more than happy to suppress accurate information and anyone they didn't like and make it a "mostly free speech" platform, so there are people there who are actively trying to sabotage that.

 

As for AR's issues... the scheduler has always been wonky.

   Twitter was in bad shape when Elon Musk bought it.  And some very disgruntled "bad actors" are sabotaging it on their way out the door.  It will be in disarray for a while.

Elon bought an extremely troubled site that was heavy into manipulation and censoring free speech. If he bought ActiveRain, most reported posts would stand, rather than someone who simply disagrees with another's opinion, having the power to delete the message!

Life just seems to be a Game of Living Monopoly. It will be interesting to see and discover one day if AR has been sold and whether it is to Elon Musk, or not is something members can't vote on anyways. For now, I am enjoy my experiences of being a member on ActiveRain.

When people are being paid to do little and then asked to do a lot, $hit happens. And it will take time to correct the sabotage. He spent a lot to have the opportunity to correct things. Would you have had the guts to try if you were able to spend that kind of money?

Rome was not built in a day.  I think Mr. Musk will make Twitter a much better place.  I have been on the site for years.  There were real problems.  Reading through many of the Twitter Files recently released, it may not have been all of their doing.  The government used very tough tactics to pressure Twitter into censoring certain accounts even when they did not want to or agree with our government's assessments.  It makes me wonder how much other social media sites were pressured.

As far as ActiveRain is concerned, I hope Ben gets it back to some of its past glory.  He seems to have invested a lot of money and effort into it and I am rooting for him.
